My cat often scratches me ,even I'm sleeping .
I can't mad about her ,cause I know she wanna play .
U can cut you cat's nail every month ,but don't cut too short ,that will make him uncomfortable .

Clipping your kitty's claws will definitely make a difference. We clip out cat's claws every now and again, but yeah, clipping them too short will be a problem too.
You can get proper clippers for pets from most pet stores, or the vet's.
You definitely don't want to clip too short as it can hurt them. Just the tip of the nail so that they are not so sharp. I normally clip only about 2-3 millimeters which is just enough to stop affectionate play-scratches.
If they are outdoors though, maybe clipping isn't such a good idea because they will use their claws to defend themselves.

I am sorry I can't help you. Cats hate me due to some unknown reason. I have ever trid several times to keep cat but the cat keeps biting me again and again! Especially in the night when I am sleeping! I am afraid of cats now, and not dare to play with them.
