Kids are taught to follow the rules and obey them, be it school, home or outside world. The rule makers however are in some cases incompetent or wrong. This has been happening at all times in almost all places. Kids nowadays are intelligent and have a sharp insight on various subjects. Should a kid be taught to question authority? Would you encourage such behaviour?

well, actually, literally teaching anybody to question a grownup is always a no-no. humans, thinking creatures that we are, ask something when we know something. however, what adults should do is teach children how to ask politely and if possible with humility.

You are right, authority only creates violence.

kids should be taught to follow authority, I mean the police teachers etc etc Whether we like it or not the police must be respected otherwise the country would fall into anarchy. Tho I am teaching my kids to question things they think are wrong, ie goverment issues etc etc tho they must also be law abiding, and respectful to other people.

I dont know if kids should be taught to question authority but they should be made aware that everything requires research and keeping an open mind keeps you out of trouble!

Yes, I think children should be brought up to understand that they should listen to what they are being told, but question it if it doesn't seem right to them. I know this can get you into trouble, but they have to understand that people in authority can be wrong. It is something they will find out constantly in adult life, so they should be prepared for it.

we shouldn't, but just taught them why you do this? why you are naughty? or why you are like this or like that.
