why is tat many ppl think about what they dislike?

i have come across many people. they dislike about something and would want to forget certain incidents. but still keep on thinking about the same. why is that many people keep thinking about what they dislike???

I guess it's because we remember bad things that happen to us better than good things so as we can do better the next time around.
