SEO sites that you recommend for websites

Hi I heard that to gain additional traffic and such you have to submit your websites to SEO so that when people search for content similar to the contents of your website you site comes up in the 1st page or so in the search results. Do you have a list of SEO sites that are free and authentic?

Firms like SEOMoz and other establishes SEO firms can be expensive, but well worth the money if you can afford it. I would not recommend tool based SEO. You can consider a firm like http://www.vtech-seo, a firm set up for offering affordable SEO services to small and growing businesses from around the world.
