It's been a week since we got our Wii. I've done the Wii three times, cut sugar out of my diet completely, and drank at least 40 oz of water for four of those days.
I lost .4 pounds! Not even half a pound. I lose sooooooooo slowly. Makes it really hard to stick to a plan when you see hardly any progess.
I am going to keep going though. I know eventally all the little numbers will add up.
Hope all of you who are trying to lose weight had a good week.

It's better to lose weight more slowly. About a half a pound a week really isn't bad and you're being too hard on yourself. Imagine in two months when you've lost 5-6 pounds and a few months after that you'll be really toned and have lost about 15 pounds. It will add up, don't give up. Just stick to what you're doing and be patient.
Visualize the scale showing you weighing less. Get some friends to do it with you if you need motivation. Best wishes!

Not for me! Right after I found out I have pre-diatebes I started really trying to lose weight. Took me 8 months, but I lost 20 lbs. Then my husband had to change jobs and we lived out of a motel for one month. In that month, eating mostly fast food, I gained the WHOLE 20 lbs back. And I wasn't gorging myself either! Just the difference in food and activity level.

Don't just look at the numbers on the scale. Look at inches lost in your waist, hips, thighs, legs, & arms. Sometimes as you lose fat through exercising you are also gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more then fat so the scale is not always the best measurement. There a few things you can do nudge your metabolism up a bit. While areobic exercise will eventually make you lose weight it has more cardio benefit then weight loss at first. Slower paced exercise with more reps will keep you in the fat burning zone. Alternate your work out from areobic one day fat burn the next. Diet and foods.... A drastic cut in calories may actually keep you from losing weight by triggering the "starvation mode" where the body slowly burns fat to sustain its self. Try cutting just a hundred calories or 10% of your total calorie intake at first. Also there are a few foods that have a small effect on metabolism and weight loss. If you don't have any health issues or not on certain meds try adding a glass of grape fruit juice to your diet about an hour before your work out will allow your muscles to work harder. Grapefruit is a calcium channel enhancer. It takes calcium into the muscles faster. Calcium makes your muscles contract harder. One of the ways blood pressure is controlled is with meds that are calcium channel blockers. Less calcium going to the heart muscle it doesn't beat as hard so BP is lowered. Increasing calcium up take rates causes the heart to beat harder as well as makes all muscles contract a bit harder so you get a bit large calorie burn when you work out. Also replacing refined starches, breads & pasta etc with ones made with whole grains as well as adding a whole grain suplament to cereals, soups or other foods. You get more fiber and nutrition as well as make your body work a bit harder to digest the foods so you burn more calories naturally. Pop corn with little to no salt or oils is a good source of fiber and is one food that your body has to work at to digest and move along so it causes you to burn just a bit more calories. Another way to encourage calorie burn is to hold your stomach in as much as you can throughout the day. If you are really out of shape and not acustomed to doing so these muscles are weak and will need some conditioning. Try a 15-30 second hold every fifteen minutes throughout the day. As you become accustomed to doing so you will find yourself doing so without even thingking about it. Great toner for the belly too :-) Good luck. I just bought an adult trike so I can get about and get some exercise in hopes of getting fit and losing weight. I'd love to have some encouragement. I think I saw a comment that you have an email encouragement circle... can I join that circle?

My sister has the Wii Fit and she says it's great! That's really good if all you did was cut out sugar; it's not as if you starved yourself and we all know that weight lost slowly is less likely to be regained. Good on you keep it up, I love being able to exercise at home;, I think we will be investing a Wii as soon as possible!

It's good for me with just cutting out sugar. I know other people who have lost 5 lbs or more just doing that though...lol. Guess it really depends on how much you were eating and how much you weighed, before hand.
You'll like the Wii when you get it I believe. It's fun!

Just keep it up!! you will achieve success as you go along.. I am not planning to lose weight instead I plan to gain more.. hahaha I am underweight.. I only weigh 100lbs,, which I suppose to have 110 for my height. But anyway, I'm fine even if I have this weight now.

Thank you. I'm keeping on keeping on so far...lol. I know about the ups and downs. Been trying to lose weight for a few years now. I actually lost 20 lbs one time. Took me 8 months to lose it, and one to gain it back when we lived out of a motel for a month eating fast food...*sigh*
