everyone is focusing on the economy but what about the other problems like the schools closing down , and health care , for one i think something has to be done about the schools because bush made the law no child left behind but he never thought about how to make that happen because next year my son may fall through the cracks because the school system i am fighting so that dont happen, my son is in a therapudic emotional support classroom but next year his home school dont have one so i have to fight to get him into the school i want him in so he can learn and is not left behind, i hope the school and the econamy gets straight along with the health care and jobs but its going to take time things get worse before they get better

School boards are run by local and state governments. If schools are closing down in your area, it's not Bush's fault. Here in Florida it feels like new schools are popping up every few months. Of course that's directly related to our population increase. Either way, you need to deal with your local politicians as they have far more control over your school system than the federal government. All the federal government can do is throw money at schools, and that's been proven ineffective at fixing crappy school systems run by corrupt officials. Just look at Michigan if you don't believe me.

Education is always cited by experts as one of the most essential issues that our goverment must adequately fund, but often fails to do so. I suspect, that in the future with the integration of technology, especially virtual classrooms and online discussions, etc, schools may opt for a four day school week which could significantly reduce the costs in education.

The stimulus package will help with some of the problems in education. As others, have pointed out, the schools are largely controlled by local and state officials who decide in what specific areas the money will be spent in. It's also important to remember, many school budgets are experiencing huge deficits, teachers and aides are being laid off, and programs are being cut across the board.

The economy performing the way it is now is not surprising, considering the fact the way greedy crony-capitalists and bankers had a free run all these years. It is excessive greed and the usurious demands of these blood-sucking crony-capitalists that has led to such a state of affairs. A similar situation existed before the Great Depression of 1932. This time I just have a feeling it is going to get far worse, and the crisis would be deeper than 1932.
As for the performance of schools, I guess they are also linked in some way to the general economic conditions, though in an ideal society schooling and economy should be independent.

Yea, The whole world is mess, but you can make a difference in someone life, and so can everyone else. I can see the changes in the economy and it's getting better. I did not have health care. but now I do; thanks to obama plans. The world is in the better place now.

... If we don't get the economy on track, we won't have enough money to pay for teachers, and thus, no schools.
Schools really need to be left to the state and county levels, Personally, I think the government needs to butt out of EVERTHING non military, and SOME things to do with Federal coining (Printing money.) there might be a few exceptions, but most things should be run on a state level, not a national level. Including education, People like Bush, and Obama, Make laws about education, and don't have a way to pay for it, so the state has to follow their laws, but don't have the money to implement them, this is a major problem.
