Y ou pray a lot to give you a job and you don't look for it, most likely you will not have a job offer. There are people who don't pray but very persistent to look for a job and mostly likely they will have a job offer. Prayer is not really necessary because it should be prayer plus action., or you pray because you have faith in GOD that He will grant what you pray? Have a nice day to all of you!

I am a firm believer in the power of prayer. We are dependent upon God's mercy every moment of our life.We only receive the things we possess now as we receive them from God. God is sovereign in all circumstances and has the power to cause things to happen or not to happen. In looking for a work or in any other things we are completely dependent upon God's mercy.

prayer is the mean of communication between us and our GOD, so we must not forget that when we pray we obey only GOD, and an other important point is that if we want to succeed in our life and find a good job, we must pray and ask GOD to help us to find what we want and what we need with doing our best to find a job, and you have to know that we can not achieve a success without religious and secular work.

Hi shalk_man your answer move me. That is why I gave you the best response. We all mankind have different opinions. God has all something for all of us. It's our faith that counts a lot to face all the challenges. Its also how we accept Him and believe in Him. God always make a way! But God also gave us a free will, to decide. He doesn't give us a problem that we can't carry or handle. God has always have something to all of us. Some they can't see it, some they thank Him and praise him. Any way have a nice day to you! God be with all of us!

I completely disagree with my friend because i'm not like you , I believe in GOD because he is the creator of this universe and we must obey when he gives to us an order because all things are in his hand , so we must pray and we must work at the same time , because a person who pray without working will not have anything in his life and he will live a bad life , and a person who work and pray will give to himself all things he needs by the ability of GOD .

Hi Shalk! sorry I disagree with you here. Can you prove that after your prayer you get a million dollar job? Would you prove that your prayer brings you two square meals?
This is all snobbery. You act and only your action would get you the desired goal. Prayer is the weak man's excuse only and nothing more than that.

Yoy know what I still believe in God that he is always there for all of us. He tries to reach out for all of us. But sometime our prayer is not granted for reasons he only knows what is best for all of us. It always that how strong is our faith in HIM. That counts a lot! Have a nice day to you!

for me it will depend. not all prayer needs an action. but like when asking for a job. i think that He will not grant our prayer every time. cause i think that prayer must be a way for Him to do what He wants to do in our lives. if He thinks that He does not want us to work then he will not give us a job. I mean not all are supposed to work. cause if we all are then there will not be any church workers and leaders who will run the church. but for those not destined to be church leaders i think that He will provide for them the job they are looking for of course with some action. but for those destined for church leadership and work no matter how hard they pray to find work i think that they will end up finding themselves to be in church mission work than for a job they are looking for.

Hi hotsummer, I believe what you said, when God has a calling to you, you can't refuse it, cause God has a mission for you to work at. God makes wonders, God makes a way with all of us. God has always something store for us. Well God is good all the time. Even sometimes God doesn't grant us what we want, cause he has always have a better plan. For me as long as you have faith in HIM, you can take and face all the challenges and your fears. Anyway have a nice day to you! God be with all of us!

i totally agree with you once you have a calling it stays with you . you can't just leave or transfer that to others. and so i think that we better know if we have that calling or what is our calling in life. but it is not easy to know what is our calling though. but prayer will surely help us to know what is our purpose and calling in our lives. i think that is the most important we can do in our lives.

Praying without working what you ask for is useless. God will not give you eventually or it's like a wish from a genie that when you want someone it will appear in front of you. Praying is like asking God to guide you and give you a lot of courage during interviews.
I do believe that you work on it and God will do the rest.

I believ that if you pray whole heartedly , god will definatly bring a miracle in your life, but we should be careful because sumtimes we dont really know if what we are praying for is good for us or not? so when u really pray hard n dont see the result it means god has sumthing better in store for you , and just remember the lines from 'bruce allmighty" God ! i want you to decide what is best for me!

Hi irene66, for me what counts is your faith to God, cause everything you can face, and even challenges. God is always there, He reaches us and touches our heart. He is a wonderful God to praise and to adore. I think we just have our different opinions and I do respect yours. It is how do we accepting God in our lives. God gave us free will, to decide choices we make everyday. Anyway have a nice day to you! God bless!

I totally agree with you that God is there. He is always with us. And we should find comfort to that truth that God is here always be with us to help us and will not leave us. But it does not mean that every thing will be a bed of roses though. BUt that does not discount the fact that God is with us no matter what we are facing in life. We should acknowledge that every day that He is always with us and God will prove to us that He indeed is.

Yes, prayer really does work. Of course, God does expect you to do your part. People who say they've prayed and prayed for something and didn't get what they prayed for need to realize that they got an answer, but God said "No". We may not understand why God doesn't grant us everything we pray for, but it's because He has a better plan for our lives that doesn't always match what we think we want.

I believe prayer works. However I also believe that God helps those who help themselves. I don't think we can sit around and pray to find a good job but not go look for that job. I believe that we must ask for God's guidance not for him to live our lives for us. I know distinctly that prayer worked for me when I found the job I have now. I went for an interview and was offered a job. However the job would have required quite a commute and possibly many more hours than I wanted to work. On the way home I prayed asking God to let me know what it is that I should do. When I arrived back in town I received a call from another lady that had offered me a job some time ago but said she couldn't pay me enough to make it worth the drive. Well she had spoken with the boss above her and was offering me what I had made at my last job. So I felt this was God's way of telling me where it was that I needed to be working.

Hi tammytwo, well it happened to me to, I was kind a scared of applying, but my fiancee was telling me God will always make a way. I was scared because of my health that time. But I did apply and God answer my prayer and got a job and another job. I was jumping and thanking God and praising him. God is good! He gave me strength and guiding me even with my health. I asked my fiancee what makes you strong even with problems, she just answer me it's my faith in Him, He is my comfort, my strength to face all the challenges that I will encounter and handle. Anyway have a nice day to you!

I think so too...
But I would like to humbly rephrase the line,
"Prayer is not really necessary"
Prayer has a lot of purpose...
When you're afraid, during a job interview and you have no one else to talk to, you can mumble a simple prayer and ask God to give you courage... No one might answer, but the mere fact that you were able to express your fear, means a great deal and through which, you can gather up some confidence...
Prayer is like you're asking for a chance...
When you pray for a job, God will most likely grant you a "chance" to have a job and you will be able to have it, if you seek for it. Like what you've mentioned, prayer plus action does the trick!
I would also like to cite a particular line from Evan Almighty
Evan's wife prayed intently that she wanted to tighten her family's relationship...
But given the problem with Evan, she left him instead of sticking up with him...
Some might say...
She prayed but God did not answer...
When in fact, God did answer...
He gave her the chance to be able to strenthen their relationship, yet, she opted to leave thinking that her husband has lost his mind... When she was supposed to be there, assisting her husband, supporting him and staying beside him...
Sometimes, we do not realize that our prayers had already been answered because we insist the answer that we want...
I think that's why some people pray and do not do anything...
Prayer is not an english for abracadabra...
Also, I would also like to give a reminder that there are different prayers too aside from a prayer asking for something...
we can also pray for thanks...
Good Day!

Hi jd107nette, I was impress with your response.Yes it is true that sometimes we just did not see that God gave his answer to our prayers. Sometimes he doesn't also grant us what we ask. Because GOD has something a better plan. What counts a lot is our faith and accepting Him in our lives. God always make a way! We should thank Him and Praise him in our hearts cause He is the one who provides for all of us. Anyway have a nice day! God be with you!

I do not believe in prying for if there is no true devotion from within what is the point of praying? The purpose of a prayer is to ask for some concessions and it would be granted when asked with true and pure heart.
Mere prayer would never do if there is no action and action mean work and work means "Karma". Only the work or action would bring the desired fruit not mere prayer.
I hate those saints like figure who taking a garland in hand go on moving as if they are nearing the salvation.

Hi krajibg, I respect your opinion. What I can say only is God is good all the time! He does wonders that sometime we can't see, but look at it in the positive side, GOD gave us free will, to make our lives better. It's just how we accept him to our selves, and believing Him. I pray, I talk to God thank Him and praise Him. God make a way to all of us! Anyway have a nice day to you!

I do not believe in God at all but I believe prayer could work. If you pray you have a belief that everything could work out well which fills you with a self confidence, it can relieve stress. Also some people I know just pray because they have noone else to talk to about problems, praying helps them to talk about their problems and fears which they might not be comfortable talking to other people about. I personally don't pray but I understand why people do.

Hi irdeano, I respect your opinion, but we all have different perspective in life, and one is believing in God and accepting God in our lives. For me God is with all of us, He provides everything for all of us, but not all prayers or what we want he could give it right away, if God doesn't give me what I want it's just fine, cause He has a better plan for me. God always make a way and always guiding me and giving me strength to face the challenges in my life. Anyway have a nice day to you!

I need to preface my answer by saying I am not a Christian, and I am answering from that view point. I don't think prayer works. When my husband and I were Christian, we prayed nightly for two years that my husband would be able to quit smoking. It just didn't happen. On the other hand, there have been times when we've really needed something, didn't pray, and had the something happen. For example, last week we were getting low on money. Just when I was starting to panic we got a call into our landscape maintenance company for a customer that needed a LARGE clean-up. We brought in good money on that job. I really think that hard work and positive thinking make a difference more than prayer does.

For me as long as I have faith in HIM, that counts a lot. God can move mountains! Anyway have a nice day to you! God bless!

God helps those who help themselves. At least that is the way the saying goes. If you pray and try and have faith but yet nothing happens those who believe say it is God's way and you will be blessed with something better. What happens after 3 or 4 years and you keep trying and keep praying and still things get worse? How do you restore your faith in God. Are you on the fence with your beliefs?
I am a very optimistic person so I was just curious since you asked this question.

God wont give us a problem that we can't handle it. We all have trials and tribulations to make in our life. God always have a plan to all of us. But God gave us also a free will for us to decide. Like life is so simple but we make it complicated. Temptations to avoid! Sometimes also God doesn't give us what we pray, cause He has a reason that is very hard to understand. God is always there, He try to reaches us especially when your down, God just wants you to remember Him, and to be closer to him, by calling His name. Anyway God always makes a way! Have a nice day to you!

Prayer is one of the most powerful thing that can help. If u have great faith u can achieve whatever endeavor you want to achieve. Faith that is with actions.
Actions mean u have the power to do the righteous things in his ways. Coupled with good attitude towards mankind. As long as u have the faith beneath there is nothing impossible in this world. But bear in mind his answers are not at the time u would expect it... Have great FAITH. Nothing to worry. God is always at work as long as the person itself helps himself.
