Ever Bought Pants/Shorts Just for the Belt?

I've noticed when shopping at Kohl's, you find a lot of pants and shorts that come with belts. A lot of times I will see a cute belt and want it, and if I like the pants too I'll get them. Sometimes I'll see a really nice belt, but then the shorts are too short for my tastes or something like that, and I won't get them.
But awhile back, I bought some capris with an adorable olive green cotton woven belt. I'll be honest, the capris were too small for me. The belt fit though. And they were on 80% clearance, so they were like $6. I figured the belt had to be at least worth that. And if the capris seem unlikely to ever fit me, I can always donate them.
Today I saw a really cute patchwork style belt on some shorts that are shorter than my usual style (i.e., not nearly down to my knees, these were by no means short shorts). The shorts also were too small, but only slightly. So I tried them on, and ended up with another $6 belt because these shorts were on 80% clearance too!
Does anyone else do this? Or do something similar to get other clothing accessories?
My family always laughs at me for it. Yet they'd spend $15 on the same belt and think nothing of it.

Ya when I was a kid, I used to love the fact that you get a belt with the pants. Mom and dad didn't used to give me a belt to wear so I was really very surprised to see the free belts that used to come with the pants...
I used to make my parents buy them then. Now, I'll say no. I haven't bought pants for the belts...

I use to work in retail. When we would clean out the fitting room we would notice how some people would steal the belts and put it on the jeans that are not sold with belts.

Wow that is bad. I've never stolen a belt, I'll just either buy the pants or decide to leave them there.
Once I tried on pants where the belt was attached with a tag so that someone would not be able to steal the belt. But it was attached in a way that it would not be able to be undone at the front, hence I could not get the pants up to try them on!
