A.R Rehman is one of the best musician that India has produced.I felt the way we Indians were reacting when he got an Oscar was like we were overreacting. For me if Oscar was given to A.R Rehman long ago i would have respected the oscar. Now oscar sounds to me as controversial as i feel that A.R Rehman has given better music than "Jai ho" and he was not even nominated foe Oscar for them.

I totally agree with Deepika. An Oscar does not necesserilly lead to the fact that Rahman is great but yeah, at the same time I would also like to add that given the Oscar, which is a matter of proud, will definitely make Rahman reach the global scenario with an added bonus. And it is also true and agreeable that he has given much better music than Jai Ho, previously but it is our honest film board which never sends any good movie to the Oscar as official entry.

Yeah...Ur right AR Rahman is a genius no doubt,i heard lots and lots of collections of AR Rahman...
I have been listening to Rahman's music for around 14 years. I am happy to know that he has finally got a recognition in Hollywood. but its too late Hopefully, this will open many doors to him and we can listen to more of his "soul rendering" works.I agree with Rahman's views on Bollywood, even the name itself doesn't have originality, nevertheless to say about most of the screenplays. The duo Rahman-ManiRatnam are one of the best things to watch out in Indian (not Bollywood) movies. Quite true, Roja is the best.
