What do you think of people with high metabolism? Some people are jealous of them but coming from me, I don't think there's no need to be jealous. Actually, I really want to gain weight and yet I can't because I have over-active metabolism. If only I could have just an ounce of fat, then I would be happy. But yeah, I eat a lot... and I never get fat. Is it a good thing or not? Would you like to have high metabolism too? Discuss.

I'm just the same, and we have a saying: your clothes look like they are put on a fence. And it's frustrating, cos I look skinny and everyone is looking strange to me. But when I see fat people and I see how hard it is for them, I regain my happiness.

Well, I'm different. I want to be fat, well not necessarily obese, but fatter than my current state. I just want to have "some meat on my bones", that's all.

me too, of course, but I mean when I see some poor people which are unable to move or run, I am well satisfied with my present state... but 5-10 kilos on me would be great.

Hey inkyuboz! When I was young I had the same problem! I would eat and eat and never gain any weight! In fact the doctor was worried about me and made me drink milkshakes every day to try to gain weight! But, once I turned 30 everything changed! And at one point in my life I was really fat! So be careful what you wish for because as you get older your metabolism can slow down when you least expect it! Especially when you get older! Now I have to watch my weight because I can gain weight very easily!

Oh I have tried so many of those high-calorie protein shakes before. It only made me have digestion problems. I stopped drinking because it wasn't working for me anyway. I just accept what I have. Someone recommended hormonal treatment, but I think that's a pretty drastic measure.

I think I would love to have a high metabolism, but Alas God made me the way I am for a reason, He planned my life out the way it is, for many a good reason, so yeah. My uncle frank use to have a really high metabolism, but it went away, so now he is much chunkier :P Why would you want an ounce of fat so badly?

Well for starters, it's because I look so thin that people think I'm anorexic! And I'm a guy. I look sickly, as if the wind might blow me away... I just want to be tougher-looking (ha ha). So thin people have a hard time too.

Wow, I never knew many of us high metabolism folks wanted to gain weight. I know I do. I have the same thing where people think I am anorexic or that I should be a model. Now when I tell people that I'm vegetarian, they think I am skinny because of that, however I ate a lot before then and I still do now only I cook everything I eat but I do have a extreme sweet tooth (just made myself a apple cobbler yesterday).

One factor is the genes. Based on studies it can affect too. Some also are acquired, depending on the life style too. Another one is stress, and the state of mind, greatly affect having to gain weight. I too have high metabolism. As for me even though i keep on eating and eating, still same havent gained much weight. Still same years ago. but i love the way i am...

I am one of those people. Can eat and drink anything and don't gain weight. Have been this way all my life and feel very fortunate that I don't have to be on any diet. I wear the same size clothing I wore in high school. You and I should feel very lucky we don't have to watch everything we eat or drink. Not many can say the same thing.

Fat people are worrying about their fatness. they are becoming more fat in worries of fatness. Similarly thins people are worried about their thinness. And they are becoming more thin in worries of having thin body.We should not feel complex and we should pay thanks to God that we are living. Thin body is not bad and fat is also not bad. But fatness beyond stand red weight is not good, similar is in case of thinness. how can we high up our metabolism? and how can we decrease it. I think medical science can give the better answer. But I would like to say that we should thankful for our health in form of fatness or thinnest.

So you have high metabolism and you find it disadvantageous to you. Are you skinny? If not, I don't think you have to be jealous of those who have fats. Everyone is dying to have slim body and that includes me. I don't eat a lot so I could maintain my weight but you...you can eat as much as you can and burn them all so easily. How lucky can you be my dear. According to what I read the metabolic process is related to our calorie intake, our vitamin and nutrition needs, our thyroid and endocrine production, and how well all of these processes come together. Imagine how so many people have tried to figure out how to speed up their metabolic rate to control your weight but you you are trying to find way of slowing down your metabolism. You should be happy. It is better to be slim than to be obese.Obesity could kill and you should be glad you are not faced with this problem. But if you really feels so skinny and is serious to put on some weight then this article maybe this excerpt from this webpage maybe of help to you: http://www.streetdirectory.com/travel_guide/47838/lose_weight/slow_down_your_metabolism_and_control_it.html "For the most part, people are consumed with losing weight and speeding up their metabolism, so it sounds fairly different if you are interested in knowing how to slow down metabolism. But it's certainly not a rare case. For example, if you're too thin for your frame and height, or if you do eat a lot but are unable to gain a single pound no matter how hard you try, it may be time to consider learning how to slow down your metabolism. Your metabolism ensures that the calories you consume are burned and food nutrients are processed for your body's use. If you want to gain more weight, you can take a few steps to slow down your metabolism. Remember that your goal here isn't to gain a lot of weight in a short time; that can be very unhealthy and may involve you eating the wrong kinds of food that will help you pack on some pounds. The first important thing to remember if you want to slow down your metabolism is to eat high-calorie foods. A high amount of calories will help make sure that your body won't be able to burn them off so quickly. Consider adding more sauces or dressings to your meal, or enjoying extra helpings of food. For health purposes, you can still select healthier food options, such as those containing vegetable fat. Otherwise, refrain from eating anything that contains zero or low-fat. Remember to drink fruit juices or milk throughout your day. This is a simple way to help you feel full and assist in adding to your calorie storage. Exercise is still important in lowering your metabolism. Just remember not to do any high-impact exercises. Instead, you can still go with low-impact workouts just to ensure that you remain physically fit. To be sure about what can help you slow down your metabolism, you can consult your physician. He or she will be able to guide you and perhaps even give you a list of foods and dishes you can prepare that will help you lower your metabolism. Trying to slow down your metabolism may sound a lot easier-and probably more fun-but remember that this doesn't give you the license to start eating unhealthy foods. Your goal is simply to gain weight, and you can accomplish this without having to stray from a healthy food program." Have a nice day!

I have a friend that has a high metabolism and she's as skinny as a rail. I guess I have one too but not like hers. She's been to the doctor and everything trying to gain weight. They give her some medicine to increase her appetite and even weightgaining milkshakes and still she hasn't reached a hundred pounds. She's very sad with herself because of her low weight. I think all in all it's a good thing because you keep a healthy body weight. My friend might not think so though.

I'm one of these people. I eat a lot but don't get fat. Worse maybe, I don't gain weight. My last weight check is 39kg and I'm already 20 years old. I'm not thin (as in skeletal) but I guess my figure is something I inherited. I don't think it's bad as long as you are healthy. But people like me would at least want to get some weight (not really fat).

There are quite a no. of people who are really blessed with high metabolism. There are people even they just eat little, don't succeed in losing weight.

Health is the most important. I think both being too fat and too thin are not healthy. I also admire people having high metabolism that they could eat anything they like not worrying about getting fat. Of course, it shoule be based on health. I think it is the best that you have a neat figure and healthy body.

Personally that is what i've always wanted, to have a high matabolism. I really have a bulging stomach due to the fact that what i've eaten don't turn into energy and instead turned out to be additional flaps in front of me..hehe.. Yes i sometimes envy those who eat too much but still able to retain their slender figures but then i think this figure of mine given by God have some purpose for the life I am living here in this world, so be it.. Lucky of you to have that highness in metabolism, so let us just accept what is due for us in this earth.Right?..GOod Day..

i truly envy anyone with very high metabolism because they can eat whatever they want without having troubles on getting extra pounds. i have a lot of relatives who are like this when they were young but as they grew older, their metabolism somewhat normalize sometimes even go slower that they grew really big because they are used to large eating. in terms of those with very slow metabolism or those people with theirs normal, once they experienced hyperthyrodism ( i think the term they used in fast metabolism) they get ill because they get weak and of course they need to be hospitalized. i guess moderate metabolism would be great and helpful to everyone who needs to lose weight and for those who wants to eat a lot but dont want the extra bulges.. an option they can resort to is to exercise to burn the extra calories
