For you, is Taiwan a country?

Taiwan, since a long time, has conflits with China, the revolutioned communistes people. China (PRC) and Taiwan(ROC) was a same country. There was a mass walk-out to Taiwan by the Nationalists, who failed in the civil wars. Since then, the both sides threat each other that they will take them with military force. But then, in these years, since China is getting bigger and bigger, either military and economically, the world main forces have acknowledge them to be the true China. And ofcourse, after these years, Taiwaneses don't even want to take back the mainland now. For us, we are happy to have our own deplomacy, our own gourvernment, our own country, and I'm proud to be a Taiwanese, just like most of us. (Why couldn't PRC just say to the world that Taiwan is a country? :p) So I'm asking you, dear myLotters, for you, is Taiwan a country? Please mention why, thanks!
