Upper stomach feeling tight right under the ribcage, help!

Anyone have the same experience. I do have this tight feeling in my upper stomach and when I lay either on my right or left it is throbbing dull pain while im sleeping. Do u know what could it be? My Doctor diagnosed me with Ulcer and I was given to take protonix but that did not help. Anyone can suggest me a better things to do.

One thing I have learned from my doctor is to lay on my left side. It has something to do with the position of your stomach and esphpagus. I'm going through just about the same thing that you are but my doctor said it's acid reflux and put me on that type of medication. Whatever it is that you have I hope you feel better soon.
