do you take carbohydrates? i read that carbohydrates are like foams that absorb water thus contributes to weight gain. i mean look at rice. you put water on it and leave it for sometime and it gets a little big. drizzle water on a bread and the water is absorbed.
however, some experts say this isn't so. carbohydrates doesn't contribute to weight gain. what was personal experience regarding weight gain and carbohydrates?

Carbohydrates is one of the basic nutrients that our body needs. It provides us with the energy that we use in our daily activities. So, not all carnohydrates are bad. Carbohydrates in food are not bad when taken in right amounts. Like the saying, anything that's too much is bad. So, as long as our carb intakes are not excessive, then it is not bad. Also, we have to choose where we get our carbs. Carbs from white rice and white bread, for example, are harder to burn and contains more calories. On the other hand, carbs from brown rice and whole wheat bread are easier to burn and contains less calories. It's not that carbs absorb water. Water retention is caused by other factors too like salt. What is bad is when we take in too much carbs and we do not burn the calories, these carbs can easily turn to fat. But, I do not believe in taking out carbs in our diet. Eating a balanced diet is the best way to go. Other good sources of carbs are corn, sweet potatoes and fruits like banana and papaya.
