Since I grow up eating rice 3 times a day I don't like to eat cereals neither oatmeal for breakfast. But when I came here in US, I am trying my best to eat whatever is available in our pantry and that is cereals and oatmeal or else toast. My hubby always eat cereals only sometimes he eats oatmeal. I can't really stand eating this all the time for I feel like having an empty stomach.. What about you? what do you prefer? I really cook rice for breakfast when I feel like eating fried rice with scrambled egg in the morning.. But now, I am fine with toast and hot choco.

It is said cereal is very good for children. Test and survey shows that cereal helps to improve memory, which is especial important to pupils. Besides, protein and Vit C are necessary supplements to maintain good health. Going to school with empty stomach is affecting the efficiency of listening and comprehension, for sure, which is not what their parents would like to see.

I eat oatmeal almost every morning for breakfast it is a very delicious and healthy meal. Add some brown sugar, milk, and fruit. Oatmeal helps to lower cholesterol. But some mornings I just feel like something different so I make granola with the oats. I also enjoy toast and eggs sometimes. Here is my recipe for granola http://notecook.com/breakfast/granola/

Neither of the two! hehe! I came from the Philippines, and we didn't get used to eating breakfast or cereals, that's way too light for us! lol!
Yeah, in the philippines, we usually eat rice (fried rice usually), with egg, bacon or ham, and coffee, and a good conversation with your family. :)

I prefer cereal, though some days I may have oatmeal for breakfast. Sometimes I may have something totally different than what you listed such as a cold piece of pizza if there is any left over from the night before. This is one of my favorites, however I don't get to eat it for breakfast as often as I would like to.

Yep, cold pizza.
Sounds like we're complete opposites, at least when it comes to breakfast foods.

I simply eat anything when I am hungry in the morning, even left overs from meals the night before. But recently, my mom has been making oatmeals and I also get to eat those. My father says its not enough for him as he gets hungry eventually when going to work. It has plenty of fiber, that's why it kind'a helps us remove toxins and for others, go to the toilet.
I have also tried cereals and they feel more like snacks than breakfast for me. My nephew likes them but, we can't always have a box of cereal. Whenever we do, its mostly just for that nephew of mine.
When such meals like cereal and oatmeals weren't yet what we eat during breakfast, we often bought pandesal from a local bakery and eat it with any filling that we might have like cheese, mayo or margarine.. sometimes even choco drinks like milo or ovaltine. I was the one who always went out to buy the pandesal but these days, not anymore. (^_^")

Yeah, but before, pandesal were made in such a way that even a few buns would get you full. Now-a-days, you can crumple one and you'd see that its not really enough so you end up buying more so that you can eat more. Its really something bad as plenty of people need good breakfast so that they can start the day well and most of the masses can only afford pandesal and nothing else.. (-_-")

I like cheese and fruits, also cereals, my favorite mix is with bananas and raisins.
Toast is also great, even cold chicken. And coffee !
I eat a lot in the morning. By the way, rice is my favorite too, i would eat rice at any hour and cook it in different ways. Don't think I'm from China, I'm not, but compete with them ... in terms of rice. Is like my body asks for rice every day, since I was a kid, nobody in my family eats that way ...
When I was little used to steal boiled rice from kitchen and eat with salt or whatever, so when my mother came to finish cooking, had to stew another pot of rice ... he he

No, that's the point, I am not from Asia, that's why all my friends/and family are very surprised.
Maybe I lived there in ... another life.
For me, a day without rice is a bad day.

I like cherrieos, frosted flakes, Golden graham, Cinnamon toast crunch, raisin brand, lucky charms.
They have chocolate cereals peanut butter taste cereal thats all I was saying.
I like the flavored oatmeal better also.

I almost always eat Life Cereal and orange juice for breakfast, no matter what time I get up. Once in a while I will cook scrambled eggs with cheese or go out to breakfast, but almost always, it is the cereal and juice.

I don't eat breakfast that often, but whenever I do, I'll eat either one, cold cereal or oatmeal. Lately I've been eating the instant oatmeal, its sugar-free maple and brown sugar oatmeal, its pretty good, I'll have a bowl of that and a couple of toast, and it gets me through the day pretty good, I don't tend to snack as much or overeat.

Yeah, fried rice is good, but its starchy, and its fried, so it will turn to sugar, and for me thats not good, since I'm diabetic, for me oatmeal is healthier.

No, I don't like any of those in my breakfast. I do take Gram and pulse in my breakfast. Doctors told me that this will do good for my hairs. I am loosing my hairs every day!
Well, it is not done yet. I do take chapati and vegs at 1100 hrs to feed my stomach so that it doesn't remain empty LOL

am still in the philippines but my stomach got used to eating any form of carbohydrates when i got married (which made me think of the sacrifice my mom would do every morning to ensure we have rice).

Exactly right!! I am used eating rice in the morning and that with fish either friend or broiled but when I came to US, I am no longer able to have this kind of food everyday. There were only few times in a month that I can eat rice and fish.
You can hardly find fresh fish here most are frozen and it doesn't taste good like what we do have in the Philippines. I am having a hard time at first, but as I go along, I was able to manage. I just eat fish in a can. Tuna is my favorite.

i like cereal more than oatmeal. i dont even like oatmeal at all!! hehehe oatmeal is not compatible with my taste. i dont even enjoy eating oatmeal cookies. if ever i have to eat oatmeal, it will take me hours before i can finish my one bowl. hehehe i preferred to put oatmeal on my face rather eat it! LOL
i like cereals in every flavor there is!! i also have the habit to wait until the cereal absorbed all the milk it can absorb before i eat the cereal. i also like to eat even without milk! hehehe
happy mylotting..
