Does anyone actually make a full time living online?

I have been a member here for a very long time and from what i have read, most people that visit this site are trying to make money online. Some do it for extra cash, but some are doing it to try and build up a full time living.
I'm curious if anyone is actually earning a full time living.
Many people say you can make great money with all the programs they promote, but how many people are actually living what they are telling you.
What do you do if you are successful? Do you work from home for a company? Own your own business? How many hours a week do you dedicate to this?

If it was a news article job for like E! or the Sun then yeah I would but just like posting on this forum would not make me a full living at all.
The money I get from her might be enough to use for some shopping if I am lucky taaaahaaa.

Hmm, not sure about writing for E!. Is that a magazine or tv show that deals with entertainers? I do not know the names of many famous people so that would be on my list of most hated jobs I think. But the Sun might be fun. lol

Awwww man!!! It's one of my fav mylotters ever. Well D, I know how you roll... I know what your thoughts are and how you earn online. I have only the nicest things to say about you. Yes yes yes, super busy with everything and reaping the results. I miss chatting with you but am happy to see you are still around. I always pop in to give a visit and see what the people on mylot are saying. The thing is, it never seems to change... I mean, the names of the sites change, but nothing ever really changes.
What are you up to now? What are your focuses? Do share! Ohhh.... and big squishy hugs!

Always a pleasure. It's a shame things have slowed down, but everything comes in waves I suppose. I guess I like to keep my ear to the ground and see what is being said over here. It's one of the very few spots I can't give up from when I started. Actually, there are three of them. lol So funny that some things cant' be let go. But I come here for the chats... I love it. I do'nt have many "friends" still here, but still nice to see some familiar faces.

As you know I quit my job outside the home. I'm trying...and not succeeding at making enough to even cover rent to my mother, let alone the bills. The only reason I've made it up to now was my income tax refund, but it is now gone.
I should finally make my first payout with squidoo in April..and with the views I am getting in both gather and squidoo thanks to twitter I think I will see a great improvement. I am also using twitter to get the word out about what I am listing on blujay too and that seems to be doing well so far.
I don't believe in all the sites you see around promising you to make hundreds or thousands of $$ in a short amount of time so I don't even attempt those.
If you have any thoughts let me know. I am doing an online party tomorrow so I am hoping to get several craft orders to keep me busy.

Hey Marsha, I have sent you a couple of messages, here and at Gather. I have lost the phone numbers to reach you when I am in Hutchinson. What do you think about all of our snow. I am positively snowed in, still.

That whole affiliate marketing thing seems to be above my head...and way too much time to learn how it all works.
Over the years I've signed up with many affiliate programs. I've put banners on my websites etc. I can't seem to get how to make sure I get the links for products.
The Lord is good. This past week I got notice that I won $250 in a sweepstakes I did through one website. I also sold 2 of the plarn crocheted shopping bags. I have an online party tomorrow so I am praying for several craft orders to keep me busy.

Have you ever tried to take Squidoo to the next level with internet marketing? I'm sure you know Potpiegirl. Have you read her ebook? If you haven't, I strongly suggest it. Squidoo should only be a tool... not the main source of income. You have soooo much potential and are on the brink of exploding into affiliate marketing, just need to take it one step further. You CAN do it!

I cant make a living with this amount of money i am getting to right now, though i wish i could. I think its possible but it takes 20% skills, 20% intelligence, 10% luck, 30% availability, 20% experience. Lol! Right now, with the earnings i have, its enough for paying my monthly internet connection service.

At least you are making enough to keep the internet. That is nice.
As for your breakdown of what it takes... that's a neat way to do it. Let me see if I agree....
I think it takes 40% intelligence, 20% availability, 20% intelligence and 20% skills. I do not see luck as deserving a % though because I always believe that luck is simply when preparation meets opportunity. Great way to look at this though!!

yes in answer to your question I been making more than a full time living off the internet.
I am a single dad and didnt want to work as wanted to look after my kids. About 5 years ago and set up my own business online, for the last 3 years I been earning alot more than what I would earn working in a so called real job.
The money I make off mylot is not really worth it, as am here for the discussions,
I basically earn from 3 programs the main one is in my profile think its the top banner.
Its mlm business and it works a treat.
So in answer yes I earn a f/t living from the web and prob do 16 hours a week usually 2 hours a day.

You earn a full time income from SFI? If so, congrats!!! I am always in disbelief when people earn full time with MLM... not because I do not believe you, not at all, but only because I hate MLM. lol I could never, ever, do MLM and be successful at it. I hate selling things, especially to people I know. I worked as an life insurance agent and an investor for a brief period and it was the same thing, I hated it. Kudos to you!!!!!

Are you talking about the website in your profile? It's ranked not very high in Alexa so I would be surprised if you got organic traffic to it, so you must be trying to recruit visitors some how. Do you do paid leads?
I'm an affiliate marketer so I'm always selling things... but I don't sell to people. I build sites for what they are looking for. If someone wants a toothbrush, I build a websites selling toothbrushes... and I never have to speak with the clients. =) heheh
And you mean you aren't making 200K in a month? Shock... Gasp! lol Yes, hype is what it is all about in the online money making market. *Blech*

It's true that not all people who promote their business on the Internet earn big money, but many people actually make a lot of money on the Internet. These people are associated with real companies like GDI.I can provide you the names as well, but I don't want to since I don't want to sound like I am promoting GDI. Few of my posts were deleted because some envious person complained against me :(

I use to have that Website GDI I didn't know they were paying that much for you referring someone. that is good! I don't have it anymore.

Yes; If you consider the annual costs of GDI, it certainly seems to be costly. But, considering the income potential in the business opportunity, its not a bad deal. Also, they pay $100 bonus every time you refer five or more members in one week. This to me is pretty cool deal. Having said that, some businesses may not suit some people and its perfectly normal. I wish you good luck in whatever you do to earn extra income on the Internet.

I'm not sure I could live on what I make, but I do make several hundred dollars a month online. I started on social sites, like myLot and mturk, and then I made some contacts. It took some time to find the right people, but I finally met a group of affiliate marketers who needed someone to write for them. That person is me, and I'm writing for 5 different people right now, and the group is still growing. I was discouraged for a long time and convinced that it was impossible to earn decent money online, but I'm now living proof that it can be done.

Good for you!! I am an affiliate marketer so I totally appreciate what you are saying. I'm sure you will agree that you need to start really looking around and researching on your own to find things that are going to work... and building bonds and trust with online people who can help you is one of the best ways!
Why do you not try to learn the affiliate marketing business? If you have extra time, you may want to study a bit about it and take your income even further... start writing for yourself and your own campaigns. Congrats!!!

My only purpose was to start earning online before i enter a real job, and i think i have achieved my target. If we keep researching and learning we can find more opportunities for earning from internet, its just a matter of time!

I can make about one hundred dollars a month. I do a variety of things. I work online taking surveys posting on forums and also writing aritlces for pay. There are a number of things you can do to make money and being online is something that is pretty lucrative, but trying to make a full time income unless you are really good or in an affilitate program is really pretty hard.

Do you mean that you are not working and trying to make a full time income online? If you are stuck right now, I can probably help you out. Depending on what your intentions are of course. It is possible if you have the time, dedication and patience. I think those are the three reasons why people fail online.. they are not willing to dedicate one of those three things. Best of luck.

Get this... I guarantee that I can show you how to get more traffic to your site 100% free. Not only extra traffic, but people who are looking for what your website offers. It is extremely powerful. =)
Maybe we should chat via email so that we have better records. I will email you my address.

There is a dream that millions have where they make a fortune simply by spending 30 - 60 minutes a day doing "something". Then they wake up, put on their coat and catch the bus to work. I'm not saying that you can't make a living online, but it very much depends on what your interpretation of "living" is. I have yet to see an online system (excluding "shops") that didn't involve either the worker being scammed, or the worker having to scam some other poor sucker. As for selling to friends. No thank you. They're my friends, not my customers.

LOL. Your first two paragraphs are crystal clear to me. But I am afraid that the third one - affiliate marketing etc is like a new language. I always thought that affiliate marketing was MLM. Isn't there a pyramid in there somewhere. I sign under you and he signs under me and we all get a share of each others profits etc? I wouldn't know where to start. LOL. I'm not afraid to work at something that is worthwhile. But I have to understand what that thing is in the first place!
@p1kef1sh (45681)

Thank you for you reply. I do appreciate it. Let me get this straight:
1. Decide what I am interested in
2. Find an affiliate
3. Create a blog or website - but do nothing with it for now
4. Identify what the punters are looking for
5. Maneuver site and punters to each other?
Not necessarily in that order. In fact don't I discover step 4 first? Please continue. If you'd rather do it by PM I will accept your friends request.

Sorry that it has taken so long to get back. I appreciate the time that you have spent writing this stuff up. I looked on your profile and found one site, but it wanted me to pay for stuff. I was a little surprised to see that, but it may just be that I am too new and that once I have started to look more closely I shall be able to recognise what is worth paying for and what is not! I shall now read all the various links etc that you have and see if I can work out what to do next.

I have tried working from home on line for many different programs and i can tell ya it isn't that easy i have given up for i found i wasn't successful at it. I work full time out side the home and it is so much easier. I honestly don't think some are being truethful when they say they work from home and make thousands they may be makeing some but if you listen to what some say there's no way in like shy of 2 months they are gonna be makeing thousands but for the ones that are makeing some good luck and congrads wish you best of luck.

I think your story is similar to many. Most people try, but are unable to attain it... and many people lie. I have no clue why someone would lie. To me, typing something online is the same as saying it in real life. Why mislead people? People do earn a full time living online, but you are right, it's not after two months of trying something... it takes hard work and lots of dedication.

I doubt that anyone makes a good living online unless they're some kind of online earning genius. I haven't really earned much off the internet but it's more then I would earn without the internet. I don't think that anyone should rely on the internet to make a living because it takes a really long time and you're not always guaranteed to get paid for the work that you do online.

I do not think anyone needs a genius to make good money online, I just think it requires research and patience. I agree that people should not quit their jobs to try and earn online, but if you start part time and build it up, then eventually (if you are successful) you can move to full time.

I had acquaintance, co-blogger, who had been earning money online in full time. As for me, I did this just for extra cash. I am working full time as a programmer. But, if given the chance, I'll still do this part time. I would rather have my own business.

You work as a programmer? That's super cool. Do you work for a company in real life or online? Certainly you could get jobs at elance.com or other places... programming is a skill that is in high demand. In fact, I may even have a question for you myself on a little project I want to attempt. Not sure if it's possible, but would love to find out. I will add you as a friend.
