A life sentence is where the person spends the rest of their life in prison. Is it better to get 200 years in prison then it is to get life in prison? Tell me your opinion.

I think it doesn't matter! Why because it depends on parole! Lots of people who are put in jail for life or like 200 years sometimes get paroled after a certian time! Like if the judge sentences someone life in prison with parole in 32 years in the state where I live! I believe if someone comments murder or rape they shouldn't have the option of parole! That goes for sentences of 200 years too! This is my opinion.

In my country..that is India...life imprisonment means a jail term of 14 years if sentenced though there are instances when people has been in jail for more than this because of the delay in the justice....I think life imprisonment is better than capital punishment...a state has no right to kill its citizen and there is every chance of getting failed in recognizing the true culprit...as we know no institution and human being is infallible....

I hear so many times that life doesn't mean life. life or 200 years means they still get parrole hearings. And a chance to still get out. I no possibility of parole added on the sentence is what does it I think.
