A story was in our newspaper today that I wanted to share with you all. It's about a 5th grader who was asked to write a letter to a serviceman as part of a class project. She asked if she could write to her cousin who was in the service and was told that she should do that at home. For the project, she was just to write a general letter to any soldier. The school took 180 letters to the local recruitment station so that they could be sent overseas. Just this week, the girl's cousin, who's serving in Afghanistan, called home all excited. He had received a letter from a 5th grade girl. Guess who had written it! There was nothing on the letter indicating that it should be given to this particular soldier. It was just randomly given to one of the thousands of soldiers overseas. The story is just too amazing to be a coincidence. It sounds more like a miracle to me.

Could you possibly reproduce the news article (i.e find a copy online or even zerox it)? It would be so much better to actually view thin in original source print.

Thanks for the reference! It makes things that much easier to share with others, not to just mention how it makes it all somehow more real...when it's simply verifiable. Thank you again, it's an awesome story. so, that was your newspaper that reported it, or did your just happen to pick it up? Anyway, if you are in the Des Moines Register reading area, greetings from the C.R. area.

There are no coincidences in life. Everything happens for a reason, although we may not always know why. I try not to put too much thought into such things, though. I usually try to just take what comes and roll with it. This is a cool story though...
