I need a song title and artist

A friend of mine has asked me to look for a song, but he can't remember what the name of the song is or who sang it. He said that he heard it at a dance when he was a kid in the 1950's. The only part of the song that he can remember is "Star light star bright, whose the one your with tonight?" I have searched all over and I can't find anything that matches. Please help! Also his wife asked for a song about a girl who drowns in a river and her boyfriend is accused of having something to do with it even though he doesn't. She is sure that it came out in the 90's but it may be from another time.
