You must have read so many novels in your life time, which one is your favorate?
and why it could affect you? the content, the main character. or something else?
Let's share together.
My favorate one is the old man and the sea, written by Hemingway. I think the old man is standing for the strong will of insisting. There is a will, there is a way.
I have learned a lot from the novel, and it taught me a lot in my life.

Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game. That book was the one that turned me to Science Fiction. Before that, in high school, I could not put The Lord of the Rings (J.R.R. Tolkien) down until I read all four volumes. At the same time William Golding's small work Lord of the Flies made an impression as well.

Science fiction is fantastic, and the novel could lead me to the other world.

To Kill A Mockingbird has been my all time favorite. It deals with racism through the eyes of a child. It's also about how a single father tries to raise his son and daughter in the most dignified way during a time when indignities are inflicted upon other people because of their skin color. It is a wonderful novel full of lessons to be learned.

I don't have any one special novel that Is a favorite. I like many different ones that i have read. I just finished one that I found at a thrift store called " Moment in Peking" by Lin Yutang. It was published first in 1939 and again in 1967. It is about a Chinese family and how they survived during the Boxer rebellion and all the following revolutions and invasion of Japan until about 1938. It is a very interesting novel. Apparently Mr. Lin had lead a very interesting life. I would like to read more of his books but only in paper back because the hard copies are to expensive and heavy for my hands. If you get a change to get one of his novels I suggest you read it because he does a very good job of bringing his characters together and putting them in the middle of the surrounding history. He also does a wonderful job of describing the surrounding country side.
