I know we have just managed a draw. But I would say hats off to Gambhir, laxman, Sachin and Dravid. They have played with sheer responsibility to help India avoid the inevitable Defeat. Our Fielders played badly and conceded too many runs to NZ. In first innings also we could not manage much. I also have doubt whether Sehwag had any responsibility to play like that?
But hats off to the real heroes!

One thing is very much clear that Sehwag does not deserve to be a vice Captain let alone captain...he is too much irresponsible...in the second innings he played ridiculously...
However, Gambhir and Laxman deserve all praise for their stunning performance...particularly this was a match which shows other Gambhir...he played with full responsibility...
Sachin is too great to be commented...he was a bit unlucky to be out in both innings...I wish he could make a century....any way Great performance...

helo...wake up buddy remember the chennai test against south africa last year??they scored 600 odd India was on the verge of a loss. What does sehwag do.....he scores a 300 more than a run a ball. The man plays like that he doesn't know to play otherwise, he is in the team for what he does. If you wanted a good old defensive opener there are many better than sehwag in India.Look , he has scored his runs like that an average of over 50 , the man is a genius and genius are more flawed than normal people . Everyone in the team has given him the license and thats the way to got . Sehwag is an asset for the way he plays , not for the way he is supposed to play . It is incredible how he retained his own game inspite of being the captain. That speaks a lot of his clear minded approach to captaincy .He is a wonderful leader, different from dhoni, but we dont want that debate now , dhoni is the captain but if anyone in the team has the mindset of an international captain after him is sehwag.

I think, you are right. That was another Great Escape. It was another one in less than an year. The first one came against the Aussies when they were here. That Great Escape came, I think, in Bengaluru. In that match Sachin Tendulkar too had played a knock of a half-century. That was one of the best innings I saw of Sachin. He really played a fantastic knock. But as far as New Zealand is concerned, it was Gautam Gambhir and VVS Laxman. These were the two stand out performers. Now, why I would not say Sachin here? Well, he is a legend. But Gambhir is still in his learning days. And he was really a master in his innings. He was at the crease for nearly 11 hours. That really took the game away from the Black Caps. Another thing to say again was the special knock by the stylish Laxman. His century too played a crucial part after the loss of Sachin and Gambhir. To give him company was another stylish youngster - Yuvraj. But anything said, India first landed herself in trouble by playing foolishly. But then came back so strongly that there could be only 2 innings possible. In all sharp 1400 runs were scored at the loss of only 23 wickets.

hello friend,
I just watched the game and it was appreciable how they performed under pressure. Gambhir batted the whole of yesterday, knowing fully that if he gets out India will be under real pressure. Still, he did not flinch and kept going on and on and it took a bad decision to get him out. Laxman showed the class he is and he has answered his critics appropriately. yuvraj also showed some form and I hope we do well in the next game.
