Is it about time for the Church to be overhauled?

My preacher gave an amazing message in church this morning that really made me think (and also really made me cry). He was telling the story about how the Christian church has evolved over time, starting back with its roots in Judaism. He told of how in about 500 BC, after God had been warning the Jews for a long time that they were loving religion more than they loved Him, he sent Nebuchadnezzar to destroy the temple and remove the Jews from their homeland. Then another 500 years later, they started to fall away again, and so he sent Jesus to die for them and started another fire to get the church going. Some time after that, the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and scattered everyone again. Then, in 1500, another wake-up call for the church came when Martin Luther caused a complete shift in the Christian religion by nailing his 95 theses to the door of the church. So what about now? The fastest growing religion in North America is the "have none" religion. As in, the people who don't go to church. And you know what the reason for that is? It usually has nothing to do with the people who leave the church - it has to do with the people who are still IN the church. This message really spoke to me and made me wonder. I know that I do not successfully show the love of Christ in all my actions, and that is painful to me. I wonder if maybe I have driven someone away from God myself. I hate to think that the Church has become its own worst enemy. Do you think we are due for another wake up call? Is God trying to tell us something, and are we listening?

It is so True. Anymore there are too many people who are calling themselves Christians attending Churches tending to think everything is OK. They just are considered Sunday Christians for the most part, and unless they wake up they are actually worse off than the people not attending church as well. It truly is time that people start waking up and realizing just how they are dealing with this and realize that God should come first before them in all things.

We christian people should live as witness to others. So that we will reflect the love of God. Of course, i realised that in my personal life as well in the church we are not reflecting God's love and we are being selfish about overselves. Time to change and make people draw towards God.

Do I think the church is due for another wake up call? YES!!! Is God trying to tell us something? YES!!! And are we listening? Some are and some are not. The church needs a spiritual cleansing. It's time for many men and women in the pulpit to take a seat. It's time for God's people to be divinely delivered and set free, from the pulpit to the pews. God's house has become a house of the condemned. Many of the real saints are scattered abroad they are not in your local churches. Jeremiah 23:1-4, says it all: Jeremiah 23:1-4 1Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. 2Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD. 3And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. 4And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD. God bless us all. Amen
