Loneliness is another negative factor for health. The retirement, small family, bad relationship, lack of hobby, etc. are reasons to cause loneliness. We must recognize the causes and initiate means to remove the loneliness. Find something as part time job, and learn something as hobby can be a good way to keep positive.

I never felt loneliness is bad for health, and I really enjoy when I am alone, 3 days from now my roommate left for home, and I am alone in this house....
really enjoying this peace...
and loneliness is I think wrongly used here, it means when you need somebody...thing you are talking about is I feel aloneness and for me its a pleasure...
Have a nice time dear!!!

You are lucky, you have company, and sometimes need to stay by yourself to feel a bit relaxed. Thanks for your response.

The same feeling I have with you, when i am in the dormitory alone,i really enjoy the peace, i can do whatever i want to. But sometimes i think if it is a kind of self-closing,live in my own world.

I am alone in my home but not lonely. Since i am severely handicapped i never go out of my house, haven`t gone out since 1992, i have 2 people at home, one during the day and another at night , to help me and take care of me. I have almost become a recluse but i never feel lonely. I had lived a very busy and outgoing life before my handicap and enjoyed life to the hilt. Then i started craving for solitude and now i have it. I am still enjoying my life even now and always keep a positive outlook and mainly keep myself fully occuoied and so i have no time to feel lonely or stressed.

Hi,
Loneliness is really disturbing.Yes,affects health, mental stability etc.In old age people become lonely.Their physical ability goes down, mental strength does not permit,friends/relatives shy away.
Extra-cirricular activities, old hobbies help them to fight boredom/loneliness out.Laughing Club,Help-Urself,Old-age society,Library,Satsang etc concepts keep people Active and more such activities from welfare organisation are welcome.
