Some people never read after they leave school, some read occassionally, some read every day. Some only read story books ,and some read all kinds of books.Honestly,I dont read every day cuz some days I dont feel like reading.Well,I do enjoy reading.I read prose, novels, biographies, and story books sometimes.I read English books in order to improve my English.I gain a lot from reading.I explore the world while I cant travel in person.I learn lessons from great minds.Im taught by different teachers whose lessons are valuable. The most important thing I get from reading is my inner peace.I feel quiet inside with a book in front of me.Do you feel the same as I do?What do you get most from reading?Pls share~~~~~~ Happy mylotting!

It is the happiness that the most important thing I get from reading.I like reading, for I feel very happy when I am reading.I think it is a very wonderful thing that you concentrate your mind on reading. At that time, you forget anything which disturb you.You will feel there is only you in the world.Maybe you feel that you live in another world which is discribed in the book. That's why I love reading.

I like reading only books that are really useful for me. I read books related to my field that to occasionally. I am not a regular reading person but I like reading, it gives you some information and we also improve our reading skills as we read more and more. I think this also increases our fluency in the language in which you are reading. Bye

Yeah, I'm agreed with you. When I am reading books, I feel quiet inside. Especially, when I read Philosophical books, I can be taught lots of things.

I do feel the same as you do. I gain a lot of knowledge from reading because when I read something, I learn something from what I've read. Besides reading as a hobby is a good exercise for the brain.

Reading has always been my favourite hobby even when i was a small child. I used to curl up with comics, books, novels etc during my vacations and everyone would know where to find me. During holidays i would go to the reading room library of a college behind my house along with a friend since they used to open th college library to the public during vacation. I have read all types of books, fiction, science fiction, Westerns, novels, autobiographies, books of general knwledge, wildlife, mystery novels, horror stories, spiritual books, epics etc. Yes i get an immense satisfaction and peace after reading books, something which i do not get in any other activity.lol

I get a lot from reading actually like information that I've always wanted to learn about and inspiration for my own creations. I think that reading really does help make us smarter and I don't think it really matters what you decide to read because reading helps you to use your mind and we should all use our minds for at least an hour or so a day. Using your mind helps you get better in tuned with yourself and the better you do that the better life gets.

I read bible, trivia books, novels, self help books and articles from website which i print all the time if i like the topic and put it all in a folder. I tag all my printed articles like a " research book". I enjoy reading, it enhance my vocabulary skills, and i dont forget to have a dictionary near me. English is not my first language so its acceptable that i am not so familiar with words written, but i help myself to learn. reading gives me an idea on topic to post here in mylot, i love it how it helps me a lot. It makes my thinking so wide. sometimes i go loud reading to enhance my diction and pronunciation. Happy mylotting and smile always!

Reading is one of my favorite past time. I learned to love books, and reading, of course, since I was little. My mom said that my very first book was "Thumbelina", which she bought when I was a baby, and she used to surround me with different books, too. I could say that her older brother, my uncle, who's an English professor, could also be one of those who greatly influenced me to learn to love reading or make reading a habit. I gain a lot from reading. One of them is knowledge. I get to know a lot of information, new and old alike, from reading. Moreover, it gives pleasure and relaxation. It's a great-escape from a busy and stressful or boring life. It's also like a time machine which takes you to different eras and worlds. ^_^

When reading...I can lose myself in the words. I can see it happening, sortof like a movie that consumes my awareness, inside my head. It gives it, when the books are written well, a sort of life. I feel a sort of mental hunger, while reading, and usually a mental satisfaction after words. The process of reading is like my brain eating and being finished makes it feel like my brain is a little less empty. I read every genre but westerns and romances, with few exceptions. I love nonfiction as much as fiction. And I read a TON. I have since I was a little girl. And now, a year away from being officially an adult, I've read three libraries worth of books...and I'm working on a fourth! I love learning but I love books for more than their ability to teach me.

forget all that 'reading makes me smarter' just SAY IT--you like reading because it calms you emotion, from fears. I often find that even though I don't think Im trying many of the books I read end up telling me alot about myself and thats unique.

I read a lot as part of my work - for proposals, presentations and so forth - not fun at all! What I enjoy most is reading for pleasure - my favorite genres of crime, horror and murder mysteries. When I have a good book in hand, I feel relaxed, de-stressed and entertained!

Like what you said, knowledge, lessons, and spelling, those are what I gain from readings. I don't read a lot lately, but I do enjoy reading articles, newspapers, paperback books, etc..... We have to involve reading from all sort of sources. E -file nad email are part of the readings too, don't you think?
