do you prefer tanned or pale skin?

I thought id post a thread on this as im quite curious as to who likes what better.
I definitely prefer a tan, and im sure most other people prefer having a tan aswell, I suppose having a tan makes you look more healthier, but being pale can sometimes be okay. I think having a tan,makes you feel more confident with yourself and you attract more people, and its a great bonus to have. Although, pale also looks more natural. Which do you prefer?

I prefer to have a slight tan, but I use fake tan as I hate the thought of getting skin cancer from being in the sun too long.
A lot of my family have had cancer, so I don't really want to be one of the ones that get it :(
I don't mind being pale to be honest; i'd rather be healthy and pale than have cancer but have a tan.
