Definately I don't find it right or humane to keep a dog coopped up in a cage all the time. I do undersstand that there is a time and place when dogs can be caged, a lot of dog trainers recommend having it be the place that they sleep to show the dog it's place in the household, that I do agree with.

One of the most important things our dogs need is companionship and work. They love to feel useful. The love to obey a command for their treats or feeding time. To put a dog is a crane and leave to live and die there is cruelty to animals, in my opinion. How would we like to be out in a crane and left to live out our lives there, right?
The best way to pet a dog is under their chin, between their front legs and down their back. Most dogs love their hind quarters scratched too.
If we pet a dog on it's head, they feel small so try to avoid that.

I think there is no one proper way to pet your dog, but I think there are ways that work I like is to pet from head to tail that is just me however. I think ther ae many people who dont really pet the dog past the head.

You mean in a dog crane like this one?
I have never heard of a dog owner do that, or seen one.
I used to have a bunny and I allowed her to run in the yard and well she had a cage for bunnies, it just seems cruel to me to keep a pet in the same place all the time.
I guess the same can be said for birds, but you let your bird out of the cage and is gone lol. I loved that bunny, she just ended up with someone else who had bunnies when we moved.
My opinion would be to give the dog to someone who wants the dog and can play with the dog and is able to at least get the poor thing out of the crane.
