HR-875, the food "police" act.

Yet another bothersome mess.. Major factory farming companies seek to pass the HR-875, which is a bill that will criminalize private organic farming. Section 103 of this bill defines that these companies ( Monsanto, ADM, Sodexo, and Tyson that I know of ) will be able to hire their own officials and lobbyists, and it gives them the ability to be determined as an "expert" in agriculture, and allows them to interpret and determine the legislation. Simply put, they could hire anybody, even a homeless vagrant, to become an agricultural "expert" ( notice my quotations, meaning that these hired people are NOT experts. These companies simply label them that way, as if to say "..poof! You're an expert! Congratulations!.." ), and at that point, you could be shut down for not following the federal government's requirements. Section 206 defines what can and cannot be used as a food production facility, meaning that you could be shut down for growing food in your backyard if the feds see it as unfit, which they will. They want us to choke down their chemically altered foods, rather than our own organicly grown foods. Any simple backyard farmer is at risk of being fined, or possibly more. Section 207 enables a states agricultural department to act as the food "police", and enforce the federal guidelines. This action alone takes power away from the states, does it not? It's a violation of our constitutional rights. This legislation is so broad-based that any aspect of farming can be made illegal. I'll leave you with this disturbing thought: Remember Stalin? In the days of the U.S.S.R., Stalin implemented these same tactics to control his people. Don't you agree that anyone could be controlled this way?

Yuck, and double yuck and a waste of taxpayer money!! If I want to grow my own tomatoes, strawberries and the like, who is to say I can't? No one, the last time I checked the Constitution everyone has a Creator given right to do as they wish with their own home as long as it infringes on no one else's right to do the same. Bloody should leave well enough alone. Who knows what horrid side effects are from all this "modified" crud that they dare say is "food"? No one knows anything about these engineered "food". I am trying to keep my family's health and wellbeing in mind when I shop, here it is being thwarted by a bunch of government know nothings. Bah! Never, ever give up your right to grow your own produce if you want to. It is your body, treat it as a temple and not shove questionable crap down its system for the benefit of those at the top who are only out to make a buck at the expense of the people. Bah!
