My wife and I watched the movie Confessions of a true shopaholic last week. It was a fun movie, but I'm not gonna reveal any details here. Anyhow, the heroine(Isla Fisher) got a humongous credit card bill amounting to $9000++ on her shopping sprees, and she has no money to pay for it. Eventually she found a way to settle it.
The highest credit card bill I've ever had is $12000, but about 90% of it was company expense so I was not worried at all. Now the highest credit card bill I've had on my own expense was $8000++. It got this big because during that time there were some issues with my family back home, and I had to fly back weekly at least once, and spend a few more dollars settling the issue(I did a cash advance) so the bill accumulated and I have absolutely no chance of paying it off quickly. I negotiated with the bank, and asked them to give me a fixed interest, and allow me to pay for it in 24 monthly installments. They agreed, and that's how I settled my bill. So what was the highest credit card bill you've ever had? How did you accumulate that bill, and how did you settle it?

I'm very careful with my credit card and spend only what is within my ability and what is planned.
The max I have spent at one shot is about 1000$ when I purchased some air tickets. I promptly ensured I paid the bill the same month!

Well the highest one right now, is actually thru a Bank and it is just right around $10,000. I am paying it off monthly and getting it down. Just hope this next time I get it down quite a bit I do not go to them again asking for more $$ back on it and having to start all over. But Credit Cards and credit can get you into trouble if you do not watch it. I have credit with a lot of places and my Credit is getting better. Just wish I was rich enough to get these and my Medical bills paid off so I could be debt Free in time as well.

I might be worse than you at this point. I was immaturely spend a lot of money from my credit card, and I am still suffering it to pay it off with all I can. I remember I max out my card to $10,000, and I just pay it down to around $7,000 now. I didn't negotiate with this card, and now they are charging me annual fee. When I pay it down to more than half. I would demand to cancel this card, and I would just trying to use cash strictly.
