Should we put the clocks forward and back for winter and summertime?

Every year we put the clocks forward one hour in the spring and back in October. For two weeks this means we have darker mornings and then it goes to normal. Would it not be better just to leave it at the same time all year through?

yes Americans do but this is from England.
It takes a bit of getting used to and can you imagine going around the home changing all the clocks, kitchen one, cooker one, microwave, living room etc etc

The whole Daylight Savings Time thing is so dumb. There's no point to it...I wish we could just leave the clock where it is all year, but try telling Congress that. They actually passed a resolution/law/order/whatever putting the start of DST about two to three weeks earlier (last year was the first year of the change). Ah, well.
