You should type in the paypal URL to go to it. That way you can check. Ask paypal about it. Paypal wouldn't send you an email asking for information. Somebody's trying to scam you. Paypal has a site to send those things too, I think they want to nail 'em.

Hi pat! I have received this message too! I didn't think about
contacting PayPal. I was too upset and I only wanted to hurry
up and delete the message! I don't really know if PayPal can
do anything about it anyway! I just get so upset when I see
these kind of messages that I am so in a hurry to delete them
that I can't think straight! Maybe you are right and we should
let PayPal know about them in case they really aren't from
them!

I received a strange email from Western Union once. I called them up and they said it's fake. I never got one from PayPal but if I did I would just delete it.

I dont think there is a need to contact paypal. There are a lot of these scammy emails around the web that people recieve everyday. Such as asking for your SIN or mastercard, so do you automatically call the Canadian Gov or Mastercard? No, no need. Unless you give them the info (which you shouldnt) and they take you money or w.e for a non legit reason, then you call paypal or whoever it may concern.

It would probably be a good idea to contact paypal and inform them that way they can inform everyone who uses paypal.
