I has happen to me! More then once! Last week a lot of mail that was my neighbors that live in the house behind me! Their address is the same as mine but different apartment numbers! This letters had the address but no apt.#! I just decided to remail out the letters! It doesn't pay to wrote on the letters"sent to wrong place",the mail carrier won't take them with me when I leave them in my mail box! I won't drop the letters off at the house behind me! So many move in and out they might be gone already moved and I don't like to get to know my neighbors! Does this happen to you?

it used to happen to me a lot. one day i just ended up going and (nicely) explaining to the mail carrier that i always got my neighbors' mail...which wasn't really a problem, i could just run it next door, but i was getting worried they'd think i was stalking them and stealing their mail on purpose or something! haha. she apologized and said she'd watch the addresses more carefully. since then, it's been a very minimum occurrence!

I'm never home when the mail carrier delivers the mail so I can't tell them of the problem!

Over half of the mail that I get is for other people. I rent my house and just moved in a year ago. I am still getting mail for the people that lived there before us. I write moved on it and put it back in the mail box.

That happens to me too, more often than I would like! I usually stick it back in the mailbox, stick the flag up and hope he takes it. Last time it happened I had this neighbors letter back in the box for 4 days, on the 5th day I made a sign that fit into the mailbox and wrote with a big magic marker: not MY mail! The neighbors whose mail was here was too far for me to drive (I live in the middle of nowhere!) and I can't drive anymore, so that was the best try I could give it lol. Makes me wonder how much of MY mail is being delivered to the neighbors?! I wish I had my old mail carrier back, he always had it right, and of the extremely few times he got a piece mixed in, at least he took it right away and corrected it.

Yes, every once in a while we will get a neighbors mail. Sometimes you can understand the mistake, by it being a close address or one time I had envelopes that were stuck together. If it's a close address, I will just walk it to the person's box and drop it in. If it's not that close, or I don't know where it's at, I will just put it back in our mailbox sticking out so that they see it. There has never been a time that our mailperson did not take it back to deliver it to the correct address.
