Everyone likes being praised rathr than criticised, both man and woman, old and young.Whatever you say, never hurt anyone. If you encourage someone to do something ,he or she is ready to accept it.If you love someone into doing something
he or she is willing to do it.So if you are a parent,a teacher, or a manager, learn
to love somebody into doing things.ok? happy myloting

I so agree with this.
I'm actually in college, preparing to be a school teacher. I studied this theorem in educational psychology. It's behavioral psychology. It's called motivation. People will do things if they have a reason and a desire to do them. If the outcome is good, people want to get through with it.
It can also be called "bribing", though. Don't make someone do a long and hard task that YOU should be doing, such as "hey, if you do my laundry, I'll give you candy". You have to consider the point when this becomes wrong. Don't become lazy and make other people do your work.
Appraisal is a reward, but mostly to kids. Kids LOVE when you tell them, "GOOD JOB! YOU DID EXCELLENT!" Adults don't always care for this, sadly. I know people that, when you congratulate them, they respond something like "YOU should've done it. It was so hard. I don't know why you made me do that. It took so much effort..." etc. Some people are so negative. Always take it well when people praise you, too.
Appraisal is good for anything and everything. I think it should be used as often as possible, may it be a "THANK YOU!" for some little task or a "CONGRATULATIONS! THIS IS AMAZING!" for some quiz they passed. I know it always makes me feel better.
