Well basically my income tax tht i get back for the year seems really wrong i would like to get help in this subject to be able to see if it is right or not

I am kinda with you there as well. But mine is for my teenage son. He made about 6000 dollars and received all of his federal back but somehow owes 100 in state taxes. This, to me, does not seem right. I would have someone else look into this for you. Good luck.

I work at H&R Block. I would love to help you out if I can. Why do you feel your return is wrong? Your income is calculated from sources like a job, interest income, Retirment, etc. You can take some above the line deductions like for Education. The second page is critical. This is where you get your deduction for your filing status and your personal exceptions for you, spouse and children. What is left after those is your taxable income. Their are Non-Refundable credits that only deduct from the tax and then Refundable Credits like EIC and Additional Child tax credit that give you a refund.
