Hi
Did anyone else particapate in Fantasy or Pool hockey this year, how did your teams do?
The guy that won the regular season and me are now playing for 3rd place. I was in second. the next to last week sucked for me as Ovie played only 2 times and Semin once. There went a lot of points. I still hold out hope but if this is a sign I am a wings fan he is a sharks fan, does this mean both sharks and wings could be out in the second round, leaving Chicago and Colombus (the 4th adn 6th place teams) to battle for the west. that is how the west would look if season ended today and it played out like fantasy playoffs. I know I am talking nonsense, but its fun.

It's definitely an exciting time in the NHL. As far as the hockey pools go. I entered the Yahoo! pool with the family and am in the championship head to head game this week. It's been intense but I've had difficulting getting guys to play. Out of 10 points we're tied 4-4 and tied in 2 other categories so it's going down to the wire! The work one, also on Yahoo! I am also in the finals and winning 9-0 while being tied in 2 categories so that one is pretty well settled at this point. We do an officepools one with friends and families so there's about 60 people in that one. Currently I sit third but 1-5 is all really close. I need New Jersey to turn it around fast, get Parise going again and I should be fine there.
My favourite teams though are Dallas and Tampa Bay. Dallas dropped right off with all their injuries. Losing 7 in a row is bad, but when it's essentially an AHL line-up you're icing it's not so bad and Tampa Bay was done ages ago so the end of the season isn't as exciting but as a general hockey fan I still get a thrill out of all these playoff races and possible match-ups.

do ur pools have the stupid gwg ... that stat bugging me so much.. I am having a lot of fun battling for third, the top two I dont have a lot of respect for as they are the type that add and drop daily. to me that takes a lot of fun out of it. I really need ovie and semin to get more games in, it killed me last week and this week aint much better

they do have the GWG stat. I'm on the fence because it's a good stat to have but I don't think the stat is tracked right. If I scored in a 5-1 game to make it 6-1 I've scored a nothing goal. But if the team comes back to make it close and we win 6-5, or 7-5, or 8-5, or whatever as long as the opposition has those five goals, then I get credited with a GWG. I don't think that's right. I think the stat should be if you score the tie breaking goal and the other team does not score after you, or if you score in overtime, that is when you should be credited with the GWG. It's a good stat to have in my mind as it keeps track of who the pressure guys are, who you can trust in those must win situations, but I don't think it's tracked right which makes it difficult for me to justify having on the yahoo leagues.
