What will you choose--work with better paycheck or one which you enjoy doing?

I was recently offered a job that has better pay but will entail a bit more of traveling to/from the office and more challenges than my present work. I love what I do in my present job, which is only a short walking distance from home, even it pays me only half of what I was offered. If you were in my shoes, will you accept the better paying job with more challenges or stay at the job you love even if the pay is less?

If the pay is so MUCH more higher, yeah I'll probably take the bigger paycheck. No matter how much I love my job, the main reason why I'm hear is to earn. If there's a better way to meet that end, then I'd take it. Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Of course, the practical choice would be to take the better paying job. I did not do the practical thing, many years ago when I chose a low paying job to do church ministry work. A lot of people thought it to be a very stupid thing to do but then back then I felt that it was the way I should respond to God's call. I have no regrets. I have never been happier and even if the pay is low, I have never been in lack. God provided for my every need. Thank you for responding.

I have worked for 32 years and now I'm home watching my granddaughter but I would love to have a job that I love to do then the big paycheck. I miss working outside the house but if I could work at home enjoying what I'm doing that would be the greatest thing ever.

In today's economic trouble, I would a job with better pay then doing some I actually enjoyed. What is the point of work if you get paid poorly, you can't pay rent with happiness or buy food with smiles and hugs. People who are unhappy with their work should weigh the options. If you get low pay and you hate your job, then look and see if you can find better pay doing something better. If you hate your job but are making more then enough money to pay your bills, doing the shopping, and take care of your family then put on a fake smile and keep going. I think people who up and quit great paying jobs to "find their bliss" are stupid. Bliss wont take care of your family!
