Hi friends I was suffering from throat infection from last three days. It was difficult for me to eat anything.. I usually get throat infection when I eat chilled items from freezer. My mother in law told me to gorgle with salt and warm water yesterday night. to my surprise the infection gone by today morning when I woke up. Do you have any such home remedies so that I can have it permanently gone so that I can eat some ice creams lol..

I absolutely have throat infections when I receive them!
This is one way that I use and I find effective.
Fill up a glass of water that is very warm, but not too hot! I usually put two-three teaspoons of salt in it. Now gargle the water and spit it out. Salt has this miraculous thing that helps your throat nearly instantly.
You can drink it too, if you don't find it too disguisting.

To gurgle with warm water and salt is indeed a worthful remedy I approve of. My grandmother uses many stuffs like that for home remedy and I will try to tell you one or two. If your finger is hurt one day and you cannot take the pain then you just need to put it in the water in which your rice is being cooked. It is said it heals very quickly. I did that. And if you are getting Urinary infection then: when you wash your rice before cooking it then everytime you are washing the rice you just need to save the water. You put it aside then whenever you are going to wash yourself make sure you uses that water. It is said to be very healing. And besides you should drink a lot of water too as everyone knows.

Hopefully, your so called infection was at the beginning stage therefore, gargles helped you over come the problem. Please try not to consume chilled items, specially when you are coming from outside. Take mixed water, it would be better for you. Above all it is upto you how do you want to protect yourself, it is said that prevention is always better than cure. Hope you are better now. All the best.

Hi Chaitra,
Your mother in law is wise and she prescribed the best medicine and it will give fast relief. There is no other home remedy better than salt. So obey your great Mother in law. But why you eat chilled items, I think you like it but if you have throat problems you please take care while eating frozen items. Now the summer is coming so you can enjoy ice-cream a lot. Please enjoy.

Chaitra, permanent solution is there, but it may be harder for you, you know what it is, 'Don't eat ice-cream' (lol). If you go to a doctor his/her suggestion will be like that either reduce the use of cold things or avoid it. I had experience that is why I am telling this, don’t angry on me (lol).

Hello chaitra! I am glad that your infection is ok now. I am delighted to know it. I am not sure but everytime I have a cough, my mom would usually let me drink a water with a peeled ginger on it.

i dont know any other home remedy other than that u have mentioned, for mild infection, milk boiled with turmeric and ginger also gives good effects, and if the pain and problem is more, i go for the Ayurvedic churna from Dabur which is called 'Sitopaladi Churna', which is to be taken with honey while sleeping. I have found this churna very useful even if there's lot of cough and infection is serious. Happy posting !!!

This is common infection in peoples.
I also got throat infection one time in a year surely.
There is no remendies, just only one thing that you can do gorgle with warm water including with salt in morning and night.
If you want permenant remendies there is only a small operation, which doctors take only 10-15 minutes to operated.
If you dont want to operation then just bye to icy and cold items to eat and also eat very less oily food.

Hey, saw someone suggested eating oil with honey...uhmmm, I would advice honey minus the oil!
Take a spoonful of raw honey (direct).
OR
Gargle with a mixture of 2 tablespoons of honey, 4 tablespoons of lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.
OR
Mix water with Manuka UMF honey, a honey variety that is strong in antibacterial property.
cheers!
