Where will you go if you first come to China?

Hi, everyone. I am a Chinese, i am always thinking where will my foreign friends would like to go if they are first come to China? I guess most of you will say Beijing, becasue that's the capital of China.
After then, anywhere you want to see? You can share you idea, or you can ask me if you have any quesitons.

I never thought of this. Thank you for your question. China seems so large and there would be so much to see. Usually when a person travels they have limited time. I would want to see China from the point of view of someone who lives there. I would want to get to know the culture and learn of what makes China, China. The great wall has always fascinated me. I would like to visit historical places.

If you want to visit historical places. North of China will be good for you as most of the emperor in the history choose north China as their capital, that's why most of the famous historical place are in north of China nowsday.

I would like to go to Guilin, China first. That is the place where my husband really wanted to go and he wants me to be with him. I have tried checking pictures of the place and I found out that it is very nice. I wish I could go there with him because the place looks like a paradise. And it is very wonderful!

Yes thank for the information and advice. I saw Hainan as you have told it is a nice place. But then I still want to go to Guilin even if it is no longer as good as before. So that I will be able to compare the two. In case Hainan is really more beautiful than Guilin now then I will be more happy because I have come to visit a beautiful place first then a more beautiful one. Thanks again for the latest update!

Hey Lady, be honest with you, Guilin used to be very pretty, becasue there is a famous saying " the montians and the waters in GuiLin is the No.1 in the world!" Nowsdays, as the river is not as clean as before, the mountain is not as green as before, i mean it still good to visit, but not as attactive as before, just personal idea, if i were you, i will choose Hainan, we call it "Easten Hawayii", beatiful beach, clean water, blue sky, you will love that place. Or you can try to find search the pictures on line, that will amazied you.

I would like to go the Great Wall and the Forbidden City.

I have to say, SMART CHOICE, all of the place you choose show different side of China, the ancient China, the modern China, the beatiful China, oh, you will love it if you visit those place.

If I first come to China, maybe I'll go to the Great Wall of China. I'm not really familiar with the many places in China but I'll first go to The Great Wall. :) I think Beijing will also be in my itenerary...Any other places you could share from your country?

How about HongKong? Great place for shopping, most of the people there can speak english, so you won't have the communication problem. If you want to see fascinating scenery, i suggest you go to Tibet or Yu Nan,you will get to learn more about China.

I've been to China last summer, and I really loved it! And I did love Beijing the best, not because it's the capital or anything it doesn't really have anything to do with it, it's because it's really a great place. I loved the zoo the most! Been to the palaces and the great wall, and the city is so organized, clean and has a refreshing air around it. I really loved it, I loved it so much that I started considering going to China -particularly Beijing- for college :P but I got awfully disappointed when I found out all their studies are in Chinese so there's no use for me to go there unless I want to major in Chinese or somtin -w- sigh

Not sure, I like places that are very picturesque and pleasing to a nature lover like me, so I'd most likely look for a place like that for a next time, and I'm interested in visiting Hong Kong also.

Gald that you love China. But as far as know, there are many college in Beijing have different major to choose and you can practice chinese as well. If you have chance to come to China again, where else you want to go?

Now i am living in JiNan,i like China,the place i most want to go is HuangShan mountian,i hear that is a good place.I have gone to TaiShan mountian,thia is a ery nice place?

I am from China as well, i know Huang Shan and Tai Shan, they are both have beautiful landscape, Tai Shan is more famous as many of emperors in Chinese history went to Tai Shan to celebrate the big days.

Great Wall is a good place to go.If you want to visit ancient Temples, Summer Palace will a good place for you to visit, it combines all the ancient architecture technices as the palace is for the emperor to live. i think that will amaze you.

I would like to go to tour The Forbidden City first if I go to China. I am very very fascinated about the forbidden city and it's history so I would like to visit the place for real and not only see it in movies or pictures.
