Blog: How do you increase traffic on your blog?

Those of you who have been blogging for quite some time and in their own respect called "experts" on blogs may remember how difficult getting traffic on your blogs. On that note, maybe you could shed some light to "us" newbies how to maximize exposure to our young and developing blogs.
It has been a month since I started blogging and my site has been experiencing a slow and steady growth. Entrecard, Twitter, Facebook, Friendster, and myLot sites have all been useful in increasing traffic, but I'm sure there are more ways to do that.
On behalf of all newbie bloggers out there, I would like to ask you for your opinions how to promote our sites.
