I swam with the dolphins last year, and it was an absolutely amazing experience to have, i would recomend it to anyone, dolphins are such loveable creatures, and they don't hurt humans at all, they even do tricks for you and you can ride on their back its amazing, im gonna do it again next time i go :)

I swam with dolphins when I was in Asutralia. That was more than 20 years ago now (whew! how time flies! Feels like yesterday I did that!).
It was in Monkey Mia (also called Sharks Bay). The dolphins were wild, from the sea. They swim up to shore almost daily (but no gaurantees....depends on your luck...but apparently the come up most days). It was wonderful! We were in the water for a good hour or so....nothing happened...we were looking out for them, but nothing, then suddenly out of the blue when we were not looking we saw fins speeding straight at us! Instinctively we panicked and almost jumped out of our skins and water.....thought it was a shark haha! But they were the lovely dolphins we have been waiting for. Swan straight into our group...and hat;s more it had a baby with it! Only 2 dolphins that day we were there, mum and baby.....Till date...the best experience in my life...one i would never forget.
I have not been back since, so I don't know if it is still the same. I hope they have not commercialised it, so that the dolphins don;t swim up to shore anymore (we slept in tents sleeping bags on the beach...no hotels or motels nearby).

I would love to swim with them only thing is I don't know how to swim but I would put on a life vest and hang on to a fin. I hear that the dolphins can sense when a person is scared or not sure about something and I think the animal would help me to swim with it.

i would love to do it! i haven't gotten to, but it's definitely on my list of things to do one day. i swam with stingrays once though. i was in the grand cayman islands, and there's an area they refer to as "stingray city". you can look it up and find info about it and tours and everything.
it was pretty nerve-wracking lol. i was scared at first, then i was okay once i was with my father. he walked off to get more food to feed them, and i freaked out again. i tried to make my way back to the ferry, and by the time i had gotten there, i couldn't see anything-everything was black. turns out, i was having a panic attack lol. i had to be helped onto the boat.
it's cool to be able to say "i've done this", even though my experience was obviously not the best one! lol. i'm not sure if i'd ever want to try this again or not...maybe, so i could possibly have a positive experience doing this, since i will know this time i WON'T get hurt, but i'm not sure if i'd be able to control the anxiety regardless of that fact or not lol.
