Does anyone actually watch MTV these days?

The last time I watched MTV (for more than 5 minutes) was probably a good YEAR ago, and it was some dumb dating show, like "Date My Mom" or "Next".
Are these horribly fake and superficial shows still on the air?
Do you watch MTV?
If so, what kind of shows do they have on it these days? Anything of substance?
If you don't watch MTV, why not?

i haven't watched mtv since they took off the osbournes.
nothing but trendy crap mainly aimed at teenagers.
way too many reality shows and other dippy programs.
fuse from canada was way better,but they removed it from my cable area.

i used to watch uranium most of the time.
they had some pretty cool contests as well.

Hey there maezee. Now that you mentioned I have never really sat down and watch MTV the past 3 years. I mean I watch some videos but not the actual shows, I just don't appreciate it that much. The shows are geared more for younger people like you, so it doesn't appeal to me at all. Cheers!

Yeah right! It doesn't appeal to me at all. Might appeal to a 13 year old suburban girl, but not me. I like shows with a little more substance. Every time I watch MTV I feel my IQ drop 10 points, and that's not something I'd like to have happen on a regular basis.

Oppps sorry about that including you with the MTV demographic. Goodness if it does not make sense to someone as young as you, what on earth are they showing MTV nowadays? I miss Beavis and Butthead!

I very rarely watch MTV anymore. There really aren't any shows on that channel worth watching! I use to watch some of those crappy dating shows. I got a good laugh out of them! But they don't even show any of them anymore. Now a days it's all reality TV. Everyone and their mother has a dating show of some sort. It's just really annoying.

I also like watching MTV. I don't see any particular programs. I like watching different songs in MTV. They show good and new Hindi songs in MTV, which I like to watch. I don't like watching nay particular shows. I change channels when the songs are finished.

There are so many music channels now on air especially in my country, Philippines. And I used to love MTV when I was a child but now, I can't remember when is the last time I've watched it because I came to love the local music channel which airs music videos with the lyrics underneath it somewhat a karaoke type. There you go... so my answer is I am NOT into IT anymore. hehehe

LOL good answer. We don't have kareoke channels (that sounds really cool!) but if you have cable/sattelite television - they have music channels where you can just listen to certain genres of music (but you don't get to see the videos). So, it's interesting. Thanks for responding, by the way!

yes, i watch Mtv. but the Mtv of India. the programs are good. its a channel of youth and the programs are based on youth generation.

The last time i have watched MTV was the the when Michael Jackson was still making waves with his song Blood on The Dancefloor. It was ages ago! And now it seems like it's not even included on the package of our cable subscription. Before i was like watching Aeon Flux, Most Wanted and now i don't even care anymore. I'm not even sure if teens now are watching MTV. I think YouTube totally pulled the plug on MTV.

I dont watch MTV, I hate MTV, you know MTV is the Music Channel but Whenver I turned on MTV they were showing Third class shows or Roadies and All that fake & cheap shows.
I dont Like it, I watch music Channels for Music only otherwise some verygood entertainment news.
but not MTV at all

i was addicted watching MTV when we still have cable connection and it was year 2004, hahah. its already long time ago that i didnt watch MTV, i am workign alone in a city and i got no cable connection anymore, so i just like sounds like radios and dance cd's.

Hi maezee, actually I used to watch MTV quite a lot until some years back. Now i am almost detached of this, though the other day was watching some programme that was horrible. The earlier quality is lost. it feel so.

i still do love to watch mtv... but still its better to log on net than watchng tv... if ill watch mtv, id only watch the videos of songs..
