I just got a mail from paypal saying that some third party was trying to access my account. so, I have been asked to change my password and my security questions. I have done both instantly. But the problem is that they are asking me to send a copy of my address for proof. I don't have any problem to send it. BUT WHERE TO SEND IT? MY MAIL? If yes, where is the postal address. Where will I find it on paypal? Or just update it like a password? Please help.

I had the same problem a couple of weeks ago and maybe because I used a VCC to verify my account, they asked me to change my password and security question and I did but when I logged in to my account it had limited access and it says that I have to do the verification process. They ask me to upload a proof of address either scanned or through their fax, I was really desperate at that time and I talked to to other members in a forum and one of the got this problem too and he said that I really need to upload the proof of address so that I can withdraw my funds and lift the limits, I was also able to talk to a paypal employee thorough get satisfaction and he said that I really have to upload a scanned proof of address. I sent them a scanned photo ID and a proof of address and after two hours my problem got resolved so I was able to cash out my earnings. I hope I was able to help you by the way if you need to talk to the paypal employee regarding your account I can give you his e-mail. You just have to follow the steps of verification by uploading the files.

That email must be a phishing email as paypal never ask for change personal information via email and never send a login link.
Did you login via that link or via paypal home page. IF via homepage you are still safe and if not then change your paypal password now.

I'm sorry to say you probably have been scammed and these scammers now have your bank account and/or credit numbers (if you had them linked) So have fun having your identity stolen. PayPal never asks you to change your information or even send them your home address. If I am wrong I am sorry for the scare but most cases this IS true.
