Today my teacher asked us this question in the class. I have doubted it until now. In my opinion, If I can obtain a scholarship to be a postgraduate in a university I like, and then I find a job with a pretty good salary by myself,I may be happy. But, when I work in society, I must face a lot of annoying problems and difficulty, my intial happiness will be likely to disappear. So, what is the true happiness for me? Will it exist forever or temporarily?

True happiness-depends on each individual. For a little child happiness is when its mom gets him a balloon or any other toy of his liking. For a boy who goes to school it may be in going out with friends ,for a teenager it may in dating with girls of his choice and so and so forth. So happiness varies with each person according to their tastes and age.But if u go philosophically true happines lies within oneself .We derive happines anytime if we are contented with life.

Well, icicle, honestly,as a man we must live in the world,we have many respondsibily, maybe you're right,if we have a dream work,we're happy, but no one can live by nothing, you can't please everyone,so it seemed to me is just keeping your mind open and suck in the experience and if it hurts ,it'll probably worth it.you must live towards tommorrow.

i guess true hapinness does come from within, a person without hang ups, with worries but can handle them and still focus on the better things that life has to offer. they say, suffering is an option and it is true. you have got to find what will make you happy and make sure to let go of the things that is hurting you.

in reality happiness....it doesnt exist....you may be happy today...tom you'll have problems...it comes and goes....true happiness only relies deep down your self...your outlook in life....how you live your life....or how do you want to live your life.....its a matter of choice....

True happiness is staying in a place where you feel that you can just be you. You can do whatever you want and that may be called happiness. True happiness is measured by your own definition of success and being happy. For me true happiness stays with you as long as you like it to be with you and as long as you allow it. For me I have found true happiness with my husband when we got married and had a baby. True happiness can also be found when you enjoy the things you are doing and when you have undying passion for them. True happiness may exist for a long time but it is up to you if you want it to last forever.

This is a nice question....
I feel that the true happiness is just being light at heart.
Just love the things happeniong around you and start admiring the best and good part in it. You will start enjoying and this will give you happiness.
Be contented with what you have ... and you will gain its fruit.

True happiness is to be comfortable with yourself. Well, that is my idea of it.
By all means, set goals for yourself as that is important to give you drive. But make the goals reasonable and achievable.
Then modify your goals as time goes bye. For instance, I had a goal to sail to the South Pacific. I never realised that ambition. However, I did take a few days out on an remote island in Fiji on the way to New Zealand which was the next best thing.
