Hello all, my youngest daughter turns 3 today and is still not fully potty trained. My oldest daughter turned 4 in Febuary and has been potty trained for years now! My 3 year old only uses the potty when she wants, even if you ask her if she needs to go potty she will tell you no and then pee or poop in her pants. She has been known to take her panties off and pee in the floor and to poop in her panties and hide them. I do not understand this! She is still in pull ups because though I thought if I put her in regular panties she wouldn't want to get the mess on her but I thought wrong! I have offered treats and prizes for when she goes in the potty and try staying on her every thirty minutes or so, to go potty, but nothing I have tried is working. I am so tired of cleaning up after her! Please help! Thanks to all and God Bless.

I believe a child is the one who decides when they are ready to be fully potty trained. My oldest daughter was fully potty trained before she was 2. She hated to be dirty and she thought it was the greatest thing in the world to have "big girl underwear" like mommy, with Winnie the Pooh on them. You have no idea how hard it was for me to find Winnie the Pooh underwear in my size! My sons were the total opposite. My oldest son was still having accidents in his pants after he turned 4. He was 5 when he finally got control of things. His brother who is only a year younger refused to even start potting training because his OLDER brother was still in pull ups. But then when my oldest son stopped having accidents my younger son was potty trained fully in 2 weeks. Now my last child will be 3 in July. She will pee in the potty if you ask her if she has to go. If she is in regular panties she takes them off and goes running for a corner so it is pretty apparent when she needs to go pee. But she will not go poo in her potty. She thinks she has to poo in the big potty but she won't go poo in the potty if anyone is in the room with her but if someone isn't with her she dang near falls into the potty. I even put her little potty in the regular bathroom with the big potty. She closes her lid and stands on her potty to get onto the big potty easier. I continue the praise and encouragement for the good times. I don't stress over the accidents. I'm sure she will get there when she is ready. Just like I'm sure your little girl will get there when she is ready too.
