Are News Channels/Media creating news instead of covering them?

The new channel /media have increased their presence.If there are 100 channels in your T.V there will be at least 20-30 news channels.As these channels are 24/7.they have no news to cover 24/7 so they start creating news.Even if a VIP/Politician/celebrity farts,they start showing as a breaking news .I am fed up of these people.
