How Do You Shut Down Your Computer?

I was just thinking about the way I shut down my computer and was wondering how many of you do it the same way. I forget when I learned this shortcut or how but I press the Windows Key, then press U, then U again, and it shuts down. It is a very quick way to do it. 
Do you do it like this? Did you know you could?

got shutdown it normally, not using any short cut keys anyway. press start button then press turn off computer. in such a way am confident enough that the following day my unit can be opened amd have no prob regarding the proper shutting down of it. coz it tends other programs to be corrupted if having not to observe proper way of shutting it off...lol

Yes the power button is another quick way. My power button is broken so I can't use it. I have to start my computer using my HP quick keys.

This is really a cool trick you provide here in mylot. I will surely try it. Generally i shut down my computer from start menu then shut down. There is another way to shut down computer from run. But unfortunately i dont know the process. I am also searching the process.

i press start and turn off computer
you should never turn off by mains or by off button

there is many ways to turn off a computer that i know of. i made a shortcut on my desktop that is just a notepad saved as .bat. I also have a button on my widget that will shut down my computer with in seconds. Another way is just make a harmless trojan on your own computer. this effect will NOT delete your stuff it will mearly show a countdown till your computer shuts down. My most favorite way to shut down my computer is throw my cell phone via txt message. i txt my computer a command to shutdown and it will with in a few seconds. any questtion feel free to message me.

Yep, I know both shutting down the computer. I am fond of using keyboard shortcuts for fast browsing in my windows operating system. I also used command prompt for shutting down. it is much faster when I am currently doing something in the DOS command prompt. Additional information for shutting down your windows xp only, you can tweak the xp operating system by editing its windows registry. At the time you command to shutdown your computer, it instantly kill the tasks that are running in your computer.

I rarely use the short keys, if I am using the laptop and in case of desktop, I will use them when ever possible.While shut down my desktop computer, I will go through in proper channel and It will get shut down properly ..But my laptop, some time, remain with the blue screen continuously till the battery is having power, if we unattended the laptop. This is due to some virus and need re installation. In that case, I will forcibly use the Power ON/OFF switch to switch it off, though it is not advisable.
