Island_Geko,
You must be seeing it a day before here in the States does. I'm having a few friends over to watch the last episode. My son will be one of them. He's 23 and has watched just about all 15 years of the show. He usually goes to the gym after work, but is skipping it so he'll be home watching ER. I'm so going to miss that show.

I have never missed an episode. It has been one of the longest running shows I have watch. It never detoured from the story line and always kept it as real feeling as possible.

I'm so sad to see ER go,its been a favorite of mine since the start. There were some seasons I didn't watch faithfully but caught up with reruns. This last season has been so good.
I figure I'm going to cry all night, remembering all the great characters and storylines.
At least we will have reruns for a long time on cable channels to fill the void.

I never really cared for ER, but never the less, a lot of others did. Isn't it a shame when a show you loved wraps up? I was surprised some weeks ago to see the series finale of King Of The Hill. I remember when that show first came on the air, and while I did not watch it every week, i did enjoy the episodes I saw.

I'm not really an avid fan of ER but I know the show is so great that's why it lasted 15 years. I'm sure it will be missed truly but like they say, all things must come to an end. I think it would be an awesome ending, the show deserves it and best regards to the cast and crew, they had all done a good job.

ER has been a good show, but it is time for it to go. Since Doug, Mark, Carol, Doug, Abbey, and Susan left, the show has never been the same. The new characters just haven't filled their shoes.

I've just been thinking about what a good job, looking back, the writers and producers did when an actor left the show. They managed to make it look as seamless as possible, in my opinion, with someone leaving and someone else coming at the same time. Of course, for most of us who watched from the beginning the characters you mentioned were impossible to replace and no matter who tried to fill their shoes it wouldn't be as good but that's not the fault of the writers or the new cast members, it's just human nature and says a lot for the original cast. They were an amazing group, no question about it! However, through the years as much as I continued to miss Carol and Doug and all the others and as angry as I got every time I learned of yet another favorite planning to move on, I came to love all the new characters who came almost as much. Abbey and Luca, Sam and Tony, Neela and Michael and then Neela and Ray...hey, I found myself pulling for them just as I had for Carol and Doug and the other early cast members.

Now that it's over, what did you think? I thought it was an excellently done episode. There are some ends I feel could have been tied up a bit better but in general I was satisfied with the show. What I really loved was that they went back to the original theme song and how the show basically ended exactly as it had begun. That just gave me chills and goosebumps right along with my free-flowing tears. It's strange how the people of County General have been part of my life for so long I don't know how to fill that void now.
