With the tough economic times, many people are trying to cut down on their spending. But I have also observed that despite of the world's financial situation, there are still people who always go out and this habit of their's has never changed. They still spend the same amount they used to spend even when there was still no crisis. But I also know some people who are really serious about saving money that is why they choose to be in the comfort of their own homes and just enjoy the day with their family. So, what would you prefer? Going out and still spend money, or you will just stay at home and try saving money?

I'd rather stay at home. I enjoy being alone. Do some stuff and cook favorite food. I love watching movies at home rather than going to movie house, its a big plus to my budget. I save my money. But I do go out twice a month going to malls and galleries to have shopping and buy some important stuff.

Yeah it's ok to go out once in a while but we really have to stick to a budget and not go overboard with it. Thanks for the nice response.

Since I am retired and have little money, we stay at home and eat things that we can afford. It costs so much money these days just to go out and eat a hamburger. I can go to the store and buy burritoes for about three for a dollar. This is agreat savings of money.

That is a good idea. It's better to buy things that we could afford than go out and spend on expensive things.

Well, i still spend money... but not as much as i used to... since like you said... the world is in a bad financial situation... and i need to save up just in case...
Some economist actually said that in order to fight this crisis... people should spend more... since that would create more demand for products... thus more production that will eventually employ a lot of people... so, people are encouraged to spend... especially those who can still afford it...

nowadays i'd rather stay home..i've always been going out before this and currently i just prefer to stay home and save some money and eliminate unnecessary expenses. even if i do go out, i'll try not to spend so much or do activities that require little/no money hehe

I just take my days as they come really, and just go with the flow with things, whatever happens, happens. I love going out most of the time, and spending time with my friends and family, especially when its the summer, and when its nice weather :) When i stay at home its normally because im not feeling up to going out, noones going out, and sometimes bad weather. Im a very outgoing person, and i never say no to going out and about when im feeling up to it :)

My spending habits have changed alot. I dont eat out as much. I dont just go somewhere unless really necessary or something. I do see people though go to the mall alot and walk our with bags of stuff from expensive stores and in my mind im wondering they must be doing alot better than alot of us. I go to the mall maybe every now and then and have only purchased something once or twice. I usually just window shop now.

Even I avoid it sometimes because I don't want to waste money for no reason.
To save that money I just invite some of my friends to my home and manage with them with just tea.
But it is sometimes unavoidable then we have to go out in such a situations without thinking about money.

My fiance and I are pretty much homebodies. We do like to go out like once a month though. We don't do anything too terribly expensive, just maybe go out to eat, or go to the movie theater. We used to go out all the time, but with only one income we cannot afford that right now. We are perfectly happy just hanging out at home on the weekends.

I only really go out when im invited or planned
I wouldnt like the thought of just turning up at my local park, especially when it take 30 minutes to get there and none of my friends are there, only people i'm not really friends with.

I am a very fickle person, so it depends on my mood. I enjoy going out to eat most days, but I also enjoy cooking (which is cheaper), so I don't really have a "way" I go about things. Luckily, I'm a gamer, so it's easy to stay home and play video games instead of spending money and going out to a movie. It also helps that my boyfriend is a gamer as well, so we like to spend quality time killing zombies together.

Honestly the past few years i've much enjoyed staying at home with my hubby or even by myself and just having some us or me time respectively. I just don't seem to have the energy or desire to go out to bars, or clubs, whatever anymore. I enjoy spending time with my family.

I just take is as it comes really. I usually stay at home a lot of the time unless it's nice weather outside and I make the most of it. I don't really initiate days out hence why I only go out when invited. Don't get me wrong, I love going out with my friends, family etc, but as a student, I don't have enough time and money to do so. I really need to start saving at the moment, however, therefore I usually just stay at home all the time.

The world is getting so expensive day by day that we got to think atleast more than once before stepping out of the house meeting your friends or girlfriend. If we stay at home then we can save on some bucks or should i say lot of bucksss. Even i stay at home when i feel that it's useless to go such places with friends and spend so much money just in a day that you can't sleep after coming home from that party. It's high time that we youngsters started saving some bucks and start thinking about our rapidly growing world.

I am not working so I prefer to be staying in the house most of the time rather than going out and spending money!
But, maybe when I can geta job and assist with our expenses, I will not limit our outdoor activities but surely, we'll spend within the budget!

I like doing both ( if I can afford to go out), but lately we have been staying at home more. I have a lot of things to always keep me PLENTY busy at home. But I love to go out shopping when I have money, usually to thrift stores and other money saving places so I can buy more with a buck. It seems like people are watching they spend more because of these hard economic times . Or if people do go out to party at clubs and nice restaurants they usually go during happy hour or have discount coupons & etc.. I know I do!

Hi there!
During times of crisis it is more practical for me stay at home. Going out would only tempt myself to buy things that aren't within the budget.
I have lived independently before and am used to being frugal. But I'm the opposite of my family. Everyone in the family loves going out and dining outside. Every Sunday after attending mass we dine and I think it's expensive to dine out every weekend. Though I'm not the one paying when we dine out I think it's just unpractical to make it a habit every weekend.
Sometimes I don't go with them and just attend mass alone near our house. I eat what's left on the fridge and it's fine with me. I know attending mass with the family or going out with them window shopping is a bonding moment but I'd rather stay home and be frugal. Besides, there are other ways to bond with them other than going out and spend money.
Ciao!

It depends on the day. Sometimes I like to just go out and windowshop. This means I just go to a store to look around. I also like just going out to take nature pictures. You can see so many wonderful nature projects. I love animals like birds and horses. Also some clouds are cool looking. Sunsets also make nice shots. Plus in the summer it costs nothing to go to the beach. But then I have days I want to be lazy and not do anything. So I will watch TV or a movie. Sometimes I get in a busy mood and just clean everything. It all depends on how I feel that day. I like spending money and saving money but it is hard to do both. So I look at our accounts and go over I bills before I spend anything.
