Obama's ONE WORLD CURRENCY The "Amero"

Obama is insane! We are a free country and must remain so. If he does this or congress does this we lose our soveriegnty. We will be a third world country, a true loser. This government really scares me. I am getting into touch with my reps. They need to stop. They are really over stepping their bounds. They are reading the laws to fit their agenda.

This is something that's been going around the internet since before Obama was even a Presidential candidate, so even if the "Amero" is truly on the horizon, it's not something "Obama is coming out with."

I think it's an abomination. There are people working to make an amendment to the Constitution protecting the US Dollar as the only currency of the US, I hope it passes.

I think this is a HUGE mistake. We are a sovereign nation and should not being putting our eggs in anothers basket. However, at this time, our dollar is going down so hard, I would just as soon deal in gold!

I have had me eye on this and the whole NAU thing for a while. I watch these things very carefully and try to keep things in prespective and sort the hype from the facts. There was a point when a North American Union was tossed around momentarily but the outcry from both Canadians and Americans was so loud it was quickly dropped. I think this would be one of the things that would spark an outright revolt and replacement of the government. The amero, as others pointed out, is a comemerative coin, it isn't real currency and has never been intended to be. So for now, we'll put this whole thing on the "lets just watch quietly for a while" list

this makes me think of a book that I read in the 60's that stated that one of the signs of the end of times would be an all world currency. It also stated that a very controversial president would be elected. Wish I could remember the name of the book but it was so long ago. At the beginning of the book it showed a map of the world as it is. At the end it showed another map and the US was not in it. It gave me the creeps and stuck with me all these years.

Wouldn't pass, especially to someone as new into the presidency as Obama. Anyways. Don't look at me if anything bad happens, i'm a republican. Then again, all these signs of the world ending in 2012 doesnt exactly help Obamas image and what will and wont be passed. Then again, I guess they're kind of irrelevant as I don't believe in such "hocus pocus" as I like to call it.

i didn't have a good feeling on Obama since the start of his campaign. He does not seem to be a good person to be in this position. But i keep trying to erase that in my mind and gave him the chance to prove himself. but with this news, it just put him more below my expectation which was already too low to begin with . I hope that my feeling is wrong and that it will all turn out well. but with the situation seems to be worsening in very fast rate, i just hope there will be some light beyond all these. i will just keep my hopes high and will not let this dim situation in life takes the best of life in me.

Honestly? This is a great idea, as far as I am concerned. Many people bash the European Union (and likewise, their Euro currency); however the reality is that, so long as these countries can remain peaceful with one another; the currencies value will skyrocket (making many things readily available to many). From my understanding, the Euro is worth about double that of an American dollar. A single currency lifts many trade restrictions and taxes, which inevitably makes friends become friendlier. Anyone who travels outside of the country will also be more at ease when it comes to financial issues. I think the primary concern for many people comes down to an "end of the world"/Left Behind series perspective of the Anti-Christ and his reign. Whether you believe in religion or not, I think it is pretty sensible to disbelieve that people working together financially is not exactly one of those cataclysmic events that would spawn the end of the world. The Euro and European Union has done nothing wrong for much of Europe, why would it do anything wrong to the USA? It makes life better. Most of those countries mentioned are stable allies with us, as well. So long as their is peaceful stability between all of these countries, an "Amero" currency would be great!

that is terrible. You will end up like us English trying desperately to hang on to the pound and pence currency when all around are being persuaded to change to the Euro. We dont want the euro anymore than you want the Amero. Every country should have its own currency. It is part of their history.

I don't think that will be possible..Maybe canada, us and europe can make a fusion of currency but I strongly doubt that china and mexico will adhere to such initiative..it will cause an economic collapse to the point where people will go back to exchanging goods for services like they used to do in medieval times.
