I worked out a new plan for myself starting yesterday, April 1st. The plan is to walk 30 minutes a day, six days a week. I need to do this because my blood pressure is creeping up on me again. I am hoping the exercise will help lower my blood pressure. It has in the past. I know, why didn't I keep it up? Who knows? UGH Are any of you using walking as a means to lower BP?

That's a good idea. I sometimes have walking when I have time because it is colder this time.. Maybe during summer time I can devote my time to it.

You should. Once you get used to it, you'll really enjoy the daily walks. I'm still enjoying mine. I'm down 8 pounds from the first of the year now. Not fast I know, but least it's going in the right direction!

nope i am walking to try to get the strenth up in my knees because they are week i have bone problems and if i dont want i will lose the muscle i have left in them , i cant take long walks because my knees give out but i take short ones and biuld up from there with summer comming it will be easier on me , so me and my children will go for walks which they like to do alot which is good because it keeps them active and away from the tv and video games.

That's great! Walking with your children is a wonderful thing to do as a family. I hope it really does help your knees. I have torn cartilage in one knee, and it seems to get better when I stick with my walking, but does hurt when I first start back.

Good for you. I'm in California now so I'm walking all the time.

Well my blood pressure not enough of a problem to use walking to lower it... but I do walk regularly to keep myself in shape. I hope you keep up with your walking plan this time. It's not going to work if you don't.

I know. I hurt all the time, so sometimes skip exercise. I know I shouldn't, but some pain is hard to work through. I should ALWAYS walk/workout on lower pain days to compensate for the high pain ones. I'm trying to do better!
