Wow, that is like the end of an era or something. My grandmother used to watch that show. I remember it being on the air when I was young. I ended up watching ABC though.

It's funny how things work out that way. But, yeah, it would be the end of the longest running television show in United States' history. Painful for a lot of very loyal fans whose grandmothers, mothers, and daughters watch the show. I am hopeful that through the fans it might be saved, though.
However, the industry appears to be in a major decline.

I know. It's strange to have a Monday without setting the VCR to tape Guiding Light. And to add insult to injury, CBS has Price is Right twice today. Apparently, Let's Make a Deal isn't ready for broadcast yet. So, they dumped Guiding Light for a show they don't have yet. That makes sense.
I'm still hopeful that someone will resurrect Springfield.

I know! The Price Is Right is bad enough the FIRST time around! And, Let's Make A Deal just looks STUPID! NOBODY'S gonna watch, They're NOT gonna get ratings! It's gonna massively FAIL!

"Yay!" "Hip hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray!" Soap operas are so far from reality. I wish they all would go away and we could get some quality programming.

You know, I don't get why you choose to waste your time responding to a discussion when all you have to contribute is meanness.
You want reality, go outside, look around, watch paint dry. Leave people who want a little fantasy in their lives to enjoy it.

You asked the question,"what do you think?" So, I wrote what I thought, think. Don't ask mylotters what they think and then fire back that they are being "mean." It's an opinion. I can see now, that you really don't care what mylotters think. You only like the ones who agree with you. Don't ask what we "think" if you aren't prepared for our thoughts.

I totally agree. I've been watching GL since I was in grade school. Even though I'm unable to keep up with it every day, I watch it often enough to know what's going on. With Edmond back in the picture, I can't help but think he's gonna blow up Springfield once he finds out Shane's secret.

Looks like you're right. Edmund is not happy and that veiled threat he leveled at Josh is more than a little foreboding.
It will be so sad for these people to leave our lives. I really hope that P&G and Telenext can find a new home for the show. There is a certain wrongness in canceling the show that started them all.

I will miss the show. I think they should not be canceling guiding light. But i heard that with the economy they had no choice because it was to expense to produce the show anymore.
