I am browsing and reading blog at this moment about the Filipino. Most of their article contents are all about this man Chip Tsao, a columnist. He wrote an article where he called Philippines " A nation of servants". I am just curious about your reaction here in mylot. Please share your point of views. They are arguing about the lines. Many Filipino are very angry because of that and some Chinese are trying to defend their fellowman. So how about you? Are you going to argue or agree?

I heared about this.I also heard that he had explained why he said that.People have the right to talk freely and express freely.I think there may be some misunderstanding between he and Fiipino.I want you know that Chinese are peace-lovers.I think we should not talk too much politics here.

It was really hurting, although we are not a rich country nobody should say those words to us. How would he feel if we do the same thing to him?

Chip Tsao is Basicaly the Chinese version of Lou Dobbs. In the USA Lou Dobbs does similar tactics He blames Mexican Migrant workers for taking Jobs from US Citizens and go on for a one hour rant against Mexican Migrant Workers and anti-globaliztion rhetoric. Lou Dobbs Sends in his Minutemen guys on the Rio Grande. I wonder if the Chinese have the same rhetoric too such as "OFW's are taking jobs away from the Chinese citizens" or send their minutemen on the Mongilia border, on the coast near Philippines to keep pinoys out of China. By the way I love to read the whole Chip Tsao's Article.

Well as we heard from the news here in the Philippines, there are mixed emotions regarding what Chip Tsao has stated. Talking about the Philippines as a "Nation of Servants" has beleagured and enraged some Filipinos here especially some political figures like Senator Pia Cayetano. She told the news that what Tsao has said has gravely undermined the Philippines and he needs to apologize to the Filipino people. For me well, it is not a big issue, we must accept the fact that we are a nation of servants, but we must look into the positive side, servants that are true, loving, cring and above all loyal, to whom they serve. We are good servants and no other race is more hospitable than a Filipino. We must be proud cause we Filipinos are industrious and ready to serve others, we are not lazy people who need to have servants work and cook for them. So I guess if Tsao should have been careful though but its ok, the word servant has a double meaning as like what he has said after apologizing the polititcians are servants of the people and we are all servants of God. The Filipino people has the right o defend themselves as well as the Chinese too. WE all should not be too sensitive about it, we should swallow our pride and stand by the truth. Filipinos should be sensitive to other nations or cultures too, because there are times that even our half brothers like fil-indians, fil-chinese and othe half blooded Filipinos here are degraded at times. So let's open up our mind and be sensible enough,we should look at ourselves first before criticizing others, and that should Tsao have in mind too. Let's keep in mind that we are all created by God as equal regardless of race, economy, culture status of life, riches and poorness, that no race is greater than the other.

read the whole article, here's what i think: he's free to say all those things, but it was obviously purely out of spite. the UN just declared phils the owner of spratlys island (which is clear by his sourgraping line 'scattered rocks', refering to the island that the chinese so wanted to have). following this incident, he was, i guess, just 'patriotic' enough to have his mind clouded with the loss, and not look at the actual distance of spratlys from china). it was clear that what he wrote was an ego issue, from a country 'defeated' by a lower country. filipinos do that, too. we write about how stupid the government is, in fact everybody in any part of the world does. what made it more controversial than it really is is the fact that a chinese man hits the filipino nation. if it was one of our own, say erwin tulfo (where is he?), we would've thought about what he has to say, maybe shrug it off as carabao manure. i was affected, but only for a few minutes. what the philippines said about 'sending gunboats', while not a threat, is easily mistaken as one, and it busted the poor man's ego. for all it's worth, i say the whole rant about the spratly's mess is just plain rat dropping.

Chip Tsao is just one of the media personality who is banking on controversial topics to get attention. Afterall, when you do that to Philippines, you can get away easily by saying an apology you don't really mean. That's the sad thing about it. It's just plain ignorance on his part to be carelessly say things then regret it later. Well he should be because Hong Kong isn't that great either consider the volume of fake products they have imported.
